I'm starting to experiment with heated fuel lines to complement the heated fuel tank. The electric heat is sectioned off to cover fuel feed, fuel return and fuel tank selector valve. Each section has its own thermostat and when finished, the system will operate automatically
More to come, I keep...
Atmospheric pressure is about 15 psi (which is also called 1 bar on many European style pressure dials), so 0.5 atm is about 7 to 8 psi....
You did change the oil after adding the diesel, right? Diesel in the oil will lower the viscosity, lower the pressure and reduce the lubricity.
Check valves and other valves can be tricky, make sure the flow factor (Cv) is high. There is a rather simple formula for figuring the pressure drop across a valve based on Cv, flow rate and specific gravity of the fluid.
Specific gravity changes a lot with temperature of the oil, so it may not...
Suppose one could use an exhaust brake butterfly valve.
Picked up one of these 3-3/4 inch fuel shut off valves (think large jet engine) on ebay some time ago, haven't found a use for it yet. It takes about 2 second to close....it seals very tightly with its polished metal to teflon seal.
Install a boost gauge and you'll know. Just about any mechanical 0-20 psi pressure gauge will do and plumb it to the intake manifold with an 1/8 to 1/4 inch fuel resistant tubing....
Wow, a whole different world, looks like a positive ground el system too.
Do you have a problem with the oil pressure, or rather, the time it takes to reach pressure at start-up?
How big is the oil filter?
Does it overheat (need for electric fan and oil cooler)?
What kind of "trash" do have in...
Got an old Binks diaphragm pump that I need to test with the deuce air system....it was used for paint and glue by the previous owner, so WVO/WMO shouldn't be the problem.
As far as I know, the HEMTT fuel tank is a single cylindrical 150 gal tank, probably too big for the 2-1/2 ton Baby HEMTT. What is the capacity/size of your tanks?
Checked the temperature of the lens caps with a thermocouple and it seems to stabilize between 115 and 120 °F, not nearly plastic melting temps. That's in "bright" and with #356 bulbs...
Well we did get an explanation didn't we? That's what it's all about asking and getting answers, nothing should be taken for granted. Often we learn from others and questions may remind us that we are not perfect..I wish you would answer more of my questions to you since the HEMTT is rather...
Both the 356 and 1873 are 3 times as bright (=power=heat) as the 1829. The 356 sits further down in the socket and should not heat up the lens so much. My lenses are also drilled, which may improve the cooling some. The 356 does a good job at the lower intensity too, so full brightness may not...
A good connection should have less than 0.001 Ohm resistance. A high terminal resistance will produce a voltage drop across it and generate enough heat to melt the post when 300 amps flows through it....
