Shipping could be a problem, looked up the USPS regs and since crude oil has a very low flash point (room temperature) the limit is 1 pint in a plastic container.
Thanks for the offer to supply the oil, but it will have to wait until a personal delivery can be arranged.
It runs quieter on biofuels also, may have something to do with rate of combustion...and/or related to the BTU value of the fuel...biofuels have lower BTU values than diesel. Lubricity is higher...
Check your IP linkages, fuel shut off lever for smooth movement, perhaps even a sticking FDC (could have some effect on fuel delivery) also try bleeding the fuel filters when the problem occurs, could be an air leak.
Any water would remain at the bottom of the filters and can be drained out...
RE: Re: RE: Crude oil
Hmm...there are many examples of "crude oil" engines and I am wondering how the fuel was prepared, I guess, to rephrase the question. Still would like to get a gallon or two to play with.
There are many hits like this one:
"In 1893, J & CG Bolinders Mekaniska Verkstads...
The power of google...
"Boiled Linseed Oil: Linseed oil in which enough lead, manganese or cobalt salts have been incorporated to make the oil harden more rapidly when spread in thin coatings"
I would not do it Devin, it would be like pouring paint into your tank..
Apparently, there is a mil spec for these self locking nuts and they only require 15 on-off cycles to meet it. MIL-DTL-25027 if someone wants to look it up.
Bottom line is that on a 30-40 year old vehicle it may be time to replace all those nuts....
I would think twice before using nylon insert...
It's not really to enable me/us to burn cheaper fuels as much as it is to run on alternate fuels, as a matter of fact, I don't want to put used anything in the tank, WVO is acid and WMO contains lots of undesirable chemicals and metals. Fresh veggie oil may not be cheaper than diesel, but I'll...
I tend to agree, at the moment the only "insulation" is a layer of self vulcanizing tape. I'm thinking that with the heat turned on, it will melt snow and ice as well.
You got it right. Make sure that the diode has its band ("light blue stripe") facing the X1 terminal.
One relay per application, this one is energized only when the flasher module is "on".
BTW, nice drawing.
Perhaps, diluted anyway, some engines were made to run on crude in the years past...want to expand and explore the use of the heated fuel tank system also. Want to see how much the crude can be heated before it gives off gases, which could complicate things..
Sounds similar to what I am doing from scratch. Wasn't sure about the wattage, but settled for about 100 watts total for about 5 feet of fuel lines plus one valve. The thermostats click off at about 115°F. I also use a relay, which is energized when the "accessories" are on, it also runs power...
