    Compressor metal in engine

Tom has it down. You should drop the pan and clean it out. That stuff gets everywhere and it will HURT THE ENGINE. Buy the correct gasket from Memphis and put it on dry. A sealer like gasgasinch is OK but silicone will push the gasket out.

    front pinion nut

A good strong 1/2 inch impact can do it, but the 3/4 WILL do it.

    Chrysler Air Raid Siren

Us too. As a wee one, I remember hearing the siren. After a bit of digging, I found out it was one of these that was in use at the L.A. Co. fire station on Rosemead Bl. It is 3 miles N. of the elmentary school I went to and I remember it sounded like it was in the school yard. When I hear it...

    Chrysler Air Raid Siren

Actually, they were originally mounted way up on a tower. When they lit, there was no warm up and nobody there to operate the throttle. There is a belt driven rotation shaft and pulley at the rear of the engine/over center clutch and a belt driven governor at the front. From what I have read...

    Chrysler Air Raid Siren

I posted some pics of an M725 Ambulance that the Museum is gonna do a resto on and someone saw just the ends of a Chrysler Air Raid Siren sticking out beyond the ambulance..GOOD EYE! Here it is, it is a runner and I gotta tell ya, that thing is AWSOME! It makes the ground shake when it is...

    So Cal Fall Campout

Good news, I just got off the phone with the Barstow BLM office. This lady CAN send me some maps in the mail! Amazing that one person from the same place can't send things, but another can. Our tax dollars hard at work! There are a couple of legal places that we can visit and do some...

    M725 resto

Drove the M106 out of the shop and retrieved the M725 from the Ambulance line so we could start cleaning it up. It has been 11 years since this truck has been touched, hopefully it will move under it's own power back into it's parking spot. It needs a door hinge..believe it or not, someone...

Battery cable connector crimpers? What to buy?

I've had this one for years. They work great.

Suggestions Wanted! Your Input Is Welcome!

I agree with the deleting of members that have not posted in over a year. Also, maybe add a search feature to the members list. Bringing back the PS mag to the main screen would help with the newb questions because most of the questions are covered there. A moderator list under the resources tab...

    Evaluating Canned NHC 250

Take the oil filter off and cut it open. If there has been any internal damage like a bearing or such, it will show there. If you want to start it, you can do so in the can w/o the coolant in it. You can idle them a long time with no issues, just don't be mashing the throttle a whole bunch.

    Need new seat cover

Idaho Motor Pool has new vinyl ones for all positions. I like the canvas smell, but the vinyl can be wiped clean and won't stain your pants

    M106 Mortar Carrier

4.2 inch/107MM mortar...we are still looking for the ground mount stuff, so if ANYONE sees or hears of them, PLEASE get the info and contact myself or the Museum! It is not a job, it's a hobby! I am thankful that I have been given a talent theat lets me do this and am extremely thankful that...

FIXED! Clinto PM'd me and tweaked it. Thanks Clint. I used to look at the PM mag stuff all the time. IIRC, there was a little pop-up on the side of the screen in the old site that had random pics of them..knida like the random photos we have now. Would it be possible to put a tab under the...

    Injection pump?

The pumps have different P/Ns so i'm sure there is something internally that is different. Maybe the metering valve or the cam that makes the pressure. I have a manual, I should compare the two.

    Should be at Stoddard again.
