    Rear Step Question - M35A2

The ones on the tailgate on my truck were mangled too. I bought 2 new ones from Saturn? or maybe off of e-bay. They both bave 5 inch openings. The old messed up ones were 5 inches when they started life, but after repeated smashing and fixing, they did have a larger opening. When I removed them...

    The Bros in Fontana

Haven't talked to them in a bit. My plate is kinda full...again with the BBQ thing at the museum. Let me see if I can set something up for after the Museum event. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/conversations/39161-bbq-free-tour-museum.html

    White letters

A good non chlorinated brake cleaner gets most of it off. It will wear/fade off in time.

    So Cal Fall Campout

I'm bringing one of my seeds..He might have his license by then so he might come up fri nite so I can leave early  We should most likely get a headcount and a list of where people are departing from. That way we can get organised and people can get hooked up for the drive out. Safety in...

    So Cal Fall Campout

Hole and I put our heads together. Me thinks we are gonna do the preferred spot from the above post, Preferred site, 34°40'44.02"N 117° 4'47.85"W It is closer to Hodge if we decide to go get In-N-Out or Panda or whatever, and the road to Slash-X will be smooth as in no miles of whooper...

    new guy from so california

Welcome! Bigmike summed it up. I have had mine for a few years, never an issue with LEO or registration. If you go thru GL, DO NOT go th DMV, find a registration service. Parts are plentiful and they are easy to work on. Storage of it and what you accumulate as you go can be an issue.

    Emergency brake cable stuck

The cable is tight? Does it move when you pull the handle or is it stuck in the cable housing? If it's stuck, pull it off and give it a good soaking of your favorite flavor of rust getter, flex the housing around a bit, be carefull not to kink it. Is there a grease fitting on the housing? If so...

    Short air pack rebuild kit?

Is the pedal hard too? If so, try cracking a line then make sure there is play in the brake pedal.

    tach cable adapter

The pump can move a 1/4 inch or so. Maybe try loosening the mount bolts and turn it CCW and see if it will give you enough room. If that doesn't do it, speedo shops can get 1:1 offset drives.

    Procedure for Adjusting Brakes

Make sure you bleed the PeePee out of the hydra vac. I did an M8 and there is still an issue with the pedal being mushy and no pedal until you pump it a few times. I think it is a residual check valve issue. The adjustment you did sounds correct. Did you do anything with the booster?

    So Cal Fall Campout

Yup, found them. Preferred site, 34°40'44.02"N 117° 4'47.85"W Where we went, 34°39'51.32"N 117° 3'19.07"W The place we camp...usually. Maybe we can change it to the preferred site so we can camp and clean? 34°38'54.14"N 117° 7'35.96"W

Anyone else own the same vehicle they had in the military.

Not me, but one of the other guys at the Museum was assigned to the unit that my truck came from at Los Alamitos.

    Multifuel Turbo Oil Drain Hose

Since we can't post things in the parts x-ref section....how many here know where it is? MODS ! Here is the P/N for a nice silicone based turbocharger oil drain hose that is used by Cummins. 3065061...this SHOULD be long enough to use for the CC vent also, but I am going off of...

    turbo cooling hose

OK, I was able to locate the one from a 1988 400 hp engine that, IIRC is a bit longer than needed so it should work for both the turbo drain and the cc vent. These are Cummins numbers; 3065061....OR, the one I used on my junk, not sure if it will be long enough to use for the CC vent, 3818267...

    turbo cooling hose

This was brought up a week or so ago. DO NOT use the silicone heater hose from NAPA or any place else. There is oil rated hose that jwaller stated, but there are also hoses that engine mfgrs use that are like silicone, but better. They are thin orange or blue hoses designed just for the oil...

    M35A2 vs FMTV videos

That's why we have the M35A3, trying to update the emissions. The Cat engines are close to off the shelf/OTR engines, but, the factory can make the engine ignore the sensor readings and just turn on the warning light and have no performance issues. Fire apparatus is that way and has been since...
