I wouldn't be terribly concerned about the cranking amps, the starter motor in the deuce typically only draw 100 to 200 amps unless there are some seriously cold ambients without heating the engine ahead of time.

Chargetek 500 is what you need, it addresses each battery individually and keeps both within millivolts of each other, which is what's required when batteries are operated in series.

I would suggest that you use a tap to clean the threads (3/8-16) and the gaskets are easy to cut from gasket material....an exacto knife works great and a punch for the bolt holes.

Yes, the key is to be able to slide the hose as needed and nothing has to come off. The originals may have to be cut to be removed, though.
Yeah, I have changed all those at one time or another. For the hoses, cut to same length as originals and lubricate slightly so that they can slide back and forth as you install them. I cut my own gaskets when needed and use a gasket sealer (T-stat housing).

His descriptin is usually not very complete, so I know I take a chance, but one was crunched from behind with the connector at an angle, the other had a free spinning...
Is there a listing of the vendors, who were signed up for last year's Aberdeen, I have some second hand information that a vendor from PA may have Ford 8x8 parts and figured I could just call them one by one and ask.....
