Methanol, ethanol or "woodgas".
There is a great movie out there, "Black Book", which shows a woodgas generator on a truck loaded up and in action from time to time (second world war Holland).
Question for you dma, what is the MS number for the transmission temp gauge, also which is the matching sending unit number? The parts manual is not clear on this.
Thanks,
If you ever wondered about these, here is the real deal:

The capacitors are charged by the regular batteries and provides cranking power at a wide range of temperatures. One charge is good for one start attempt after which the capacitors are...
Be careful bypassing the starter relay, it's designed to handle the current needed by the solenoid, which is at least 30 amps during the "pull-in" phase.
The switch on the dash isn't designed for it.
Sounds like a battery/connection problem (scooter's post).
"At the filters" may not be clear to some, pre filter may be 10 psi more than the pressure at the oil cooler.
Low oil pressure can also be a sign of worn rod bearings, which I suspect is the case in my deuce.
Do an oil analysis and check for metal content.
RE: Mine is similar to this one and works great
Another reminder ( I think we covered most everything already at one time or another on this forum), when you draw from one battery only, you need to recharge each battery separately so that the vehicle charging system can do its job, charging...
Re: RE: wiring for 12 volt electrical with a 24 volt system
Do install a switch as suggested above, that way you can keep it off while cranking the engine.
Think about it, they are like parts of an erector set, have one basic chassis truck make any model you like. :-)
The original pipeline truck (later M756A2) was actually only a bed assembly with all the goodies, to be swapped with a cargo bed or any other model for that matter as needed. My...
Well, it must have something to do with my engineering background in the aerospace industry...I happen to admire the engineering that went into building these vehicles and try not to add shabby parts or compromise the original design goals. Other than that, I have no comment.
The relays in my...
There are plenty of references to "lamp loads" and how they effect contact ratings, here is one example:
"15.2.3.1 Incandescent Lamps
The cold resistance of a tungsten filament lamp is extremely low; this results in in-rush currents that may exceed 15 times the value of the steady-state...
Good work Joel, what is the relay contact ratings?
I use mil spec relays in my system (blue in the image, one for head lights and one for the turn signals), which can conservatively handle a 10 amp lamp load, meaning 75 amp or higher inrush currents.
The deuce tractor has its 5th wheel 52-1/4 high, so the difference isn't that great. The one on my 8x8 is 56-14 high according to TM43-0001-31.
Maybe one day I can join the crowd (with a trailer). :-)
What is the concensus on mudflaps, pictures of the 757 while in service don't show any, must...
A note about lock washers. The tension in the bolt is what keeps it from loosening up not the lockwasher. The lock washer may keep a loose bolt from falling out, but that's it, if they are not called for don't use them, but do torque to spec.
Thanks for posting the images.
