My biggest regret with selling that '71 is it had all the ring mount reinforcement mods done to the cab. At the time I just thought they put a plate in the back because the truck was falling apart.

I have;-) The 1971 was bought by an alternative energy firm in Redmond. The guy had more money than he knew what to do with. He mounted solar panels and an elevating wind turbine off the bed. Pretty awesome. He sent me a bunch of pics but I cannot release the pics until he debuts the truck...

I made up my own mirror bracket using a thin piece of galvanized steel I got from a hardware store. Drilled a couple holes and mounted them.

I'm actually threading a fitting into the holes so I can connect a plastic lining w/a petcock. I did this to avoid critters from crawling up into the wall space. Don't want critter babies up there:p I've got these fittings in all the wall spaces. The upper threaded ends are flush with the floor...

That's exactly where my last leaks were. They were dripping down onto the ledge and then making it's way between the corner joints. I caulked everything that had a gap....it worked;-) Now I get to tear into the port side tomorrow and start drilling drainage holes. Probably won't have any updates...

The compressor is no big deal. The entire top shroud can be unbolted and put in any position you want.
