I did the same lift on my '85, 1T crewcab. I pulled 20 thru 25 ft trailers with it and mild off roading, sand dunes and hard pack in the high dez witrh the fam. It worked good, good flexing off road, no roll on the street. The only issue I had was that after 2 or 3 years, the front springs...
For all you BIG truck guys with the HEMTTs and XM757s and the such, I came across a photo in the Patton Museum while on vacation. There were no explanations or captions with the pic, only that this was one of the vehicles used out in the training grounds around Chiraco Summit for Pattons desert...
RE: My first Duece
Why are the troop seats on backwards? The cargo area staves are very tall and so is the stack. What was this used for? Clean truck though, congrats.
You should think about downloading and reading the manuals if you haven't done so yet. At least the 10, and maybe the multifuel operator one. I don't know if it is here in the TM section, if not, Idaho Motorpool has it to download for free.
Scooter, if you did that, you'd have clouds of white smoke. Maybe Florida or Mississippi would hire you for mosquito abatement and that would help you offset your fuel cost
Here's the two I have. The one on the left is a big univeral one, it adjusts to fit anything, bad part is that is about 25 pounds. The one on the right is another universal, but it has the 5-5 1/2 foot on it. I might have a 4 1/2 to 5 at work, and I can't find the bridge, but that is easy to fab...
How do ya figure that? The head is off, now just drop the pan and push the piston out...a half hour to get that far and alot lighter. You need to find out why the piston got damaged though. Take a pic of it and let us see what the damage is. If you took off the cylinder head, you can change a...
I can get a p/n for you on Monday. You just learned the first lesson of an eccentric w/p, If the fan still turns and the pump aint pissin' out the weep hole. Don't mess with it. It will leak at the gasket,or break. A word of advice, when you put the new pump on, coat the copper seal ring with...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Twin Turbo Deuce
Can't resist. Turbos DO NOT make more power, fuel does, but, if you ask the Banks salesman, all ya gotta do is slam a big turbo, a different wastegate and different intake on your "turbo diesel" to make more power. Listen to Mr. jwaller, he knows what it is...
RE: Re: no power
Make sure it is getting full throttle before you do anything. Easy things first. Also, take a look at the shut off shaft. If it isn't pushed in all the way, it will start and run, but have real low power and slow acceleration
Try it with one of Kennys power bleeder. I made one and it works great, did the 105 with it too. Try this first. Sounds like there is still air in the system somewhere.

I think you'd have to use a good automotive paint with hardeners and such. The rattle can stuff will prolly wear off too fast. I clean the steering wheel, and as you state, if it is high in humidity or wet outside, the wheel still leaves my hands filthy.
Not power steering unless it has air assist, a big air can on the tie rod. I think every deuce leaks at the steering box.. Check the LO for what goes in it.
Re: RE: Barstow, Ca.
Well, I hope so, like I said, He was not the same guy I dealt with on prior visits in regards to his attitude. He was very responsive today. I have to tell you though, from what I read of him today, he has the same kind sarcastic sense of humor I do. He made me chuckle...
