Just a heads up. For those of us that wish to previw, P/U, load out or whatever at MCLB/GL Barstow. I had a very pleasant experience with Dave today. He has no issues with us guys/gals that are collectors, restorers or enthusiasts. He just has to deal with one off people the vandalize and steal...
Went to Barstow today to recover a deuce for Mark, BBoomerBootCamp. Twas a spur of the moment thing, all the right things happened and I had the day off, so, I buzzed out to JDToumaninans house with some fluids and such, we loaded it in his deuce with his tools and set out for MCLB, Barstow. He...
Pre and Post trip checks, roll around under it and see what you see. Remember, these aren't toys...well, they are, but not...if things go bad, they can hurt someone, or worse.
Called Dave a few weeks ago, he sold his deuce and then the guy who had the HMMWV, sold it to another person before Dave got there with the $. He is MV less for now. Tried calling Tony, He and Dave have had a falling out, couldn't raise him, left a msg, no reply.
Another wee one?? Or a new MV
Anyone interested in Camp Dirtbag III t-shirts? I might be able to get some artwork done up and they might cost 10 bucks...just a thought.
I would do the tanks, not the core. .
Ultrasonic leaves the paint, so the tanks and core are still OD on mine. Even the label on the fill neck stayed in one piece.
If it's a crank, no start, easy things first. Take the cover off the pump where the shut off is and make sure the lever isn't stuck in the no fuel position. When the ign. is turned on, do you hear the in tank pump working? Could just be no diesel gas at the pump. If you turn the ign on, crack...
I have no clue what happens to the crankcase oil when a WVO is introduced into it and it gets real hot. Bottleworks, wanna give it a try for an experiment so we all will know what happens?
Where ever you take it, tell them to NOT paint the core. The paint radiator shops use seems to never dry and, I have seen it add 10 degrees to the system temps. 2cents
I don't think potatoes are oil producing veggies. I think what has happened is a reaction between a petro based and a natural oil based product, not so much thru a fuel passing the rings, which is possible, but for the amount of it in the oil, there would need to be major cylinder damage, but...
The goo could be a reaction of the WVO and motor oil. If he runs diesel, he could have just as bad or worse consequences, like a spun bearing from dillution. If the FDC is still hooked up, i'd bypass it and keep an eye on the oil pressure and level. If he gets fuel in the oil AFTER the bypass...
RE: Re: RE: Accessory drive seal leaking bad on cummins engi
Chuck, before you go doing the crank seal, please answer a few Q's for me. There are two different cranks in these engines. A square nosed and a tapered nose. When you look at the damper, is there a big bolt in the center with 6 bolts...
Re: RE: Accessory drive seal leaking bad on cummins engine i
Kenny, thanks for the kind words, I Am by no means an expert. I am just a cranky old jackass that has been around a bit. These pigs teach me a lesson every day. WooHoo, 9 more years, I can retire!
