Mine is 12v. It's also a gasser... it was, at some time, 24v, but definitely converted. Probably by the Air National Guard for reliability and normalcy and not to fry any of their civilian comms gear and emergency lights.

So today (29 SEPT 2021) JerryRig Everything has caught up to 'present' day with his Electric HMMWV videos. Today was an electric power steering. He also announced that he will be taking a short break as he and his wife are expecting.
Overall, a lot of what he's done, I've really liked. Not...
I would, probably, start with putting the brown/ground on the front "left" bolt. Whatever that is on the left of the two objects in the picture, the front bolt, or the one closest to the camera.
That being said, you need some serious wire clean up and securing in that nest.
I won't be out of here till mid-day/afternoon tomorrow, might make dinner, might not. finally getting some success with garage contractors which has scewed my whole concept of a schedule.
for what it's worth, I picked up one of those Navy Weapons (bomb) trailers, added railings and some plywood to make signage, and use that. That way we aren't relying on a specific prime mover. Anyone who has a truck can pull it in the parade.
