Marti, is that the coolant heater AND the oil pan heater, did you complete both installations?
From the installation instructions I have seen, they do go together, using a pump for the coolant and the exhaust from the heater for the oil pan.
I'm wondering how effective the oil pan heater would...
RE: Here are som e pics of my first tatra
Thanks for posting the images!
What are those "dummy" lights on the instrument panel, sure is a bunch of them? Are the large instruments multifunction types, say clock and tach?
Do you need to remove the entire engine hatch cover to check oil, for...
Got you Mike, of course the locking lever is to prevent accidental use of head light in particular during blackout conditions.
Which reminds me, the locking lever is non-functional (broken) on my 8x8, it works just like you describe the German one, headlights in one direction, blackouts in the...
Re: RE: Weird thing happened to my fuel pump.
If you do, don't forget to add a fuse or circuit breaker, there is none except for the 2 amp pump mounted fuse in the original pump circuit. That's why the damage was so severe (per description above), no protection for wiring problems.
FWIW, the...
50 ft slave cables! You need to begin to worry about voltage drops from 2 to 5 volts depending on conditions. Not so good on a cold day with "thick" oil in the crankcase...shorter is better.
RE: New duece brakes locked while driving help
When the brakes lock up because of a valve problem, open the "Service" air glad hand in the rear (driver's side), it's a direct connection to the large air cylinder on the Airpak.
Don't forget to lube the Airpak, small plug on the back, it will...
Unless you are talking thousands of cycles, it should not be a problem.

Paragraph from circuit breaker patent shown below. Second image shows circuit breaker and the dimmer resistor.
Sounds like an overload condition. All lights are controlled by this switch and the built-in circuit breaker will trip if there is an overload (=short) in any of the circuits.
My headlights are now on a separate circuit breaker and controlled by a relay, which is the only thing the 3-lever...
Re: RE: Simplified Injection Pump Plumbing --- Why Not???
The FDC (fuel viscosity compensator, actually) has absolutely nothing to do with the engine being a multifuel or not, it's the combustion cycle that makes it what it is. This has been kicked over so many times in the past, so I'll stop...
Did you ever get around to checking the number, it's nowhere to be found?
The 356 bulb has its filament in a lower location by about 0.13 inches (according to spec sheet), may be worth trying. It's also brighter...
