Manufacturer was the same with the 3 names you listed. Just had different names. Went from Kaiser-Jeep ('60's) to General Products Division(1970-1971) to American General (1971 on).
In the early '60's on down to the '50' there were other manuf as well.
Now as the years progressed...
Hi Karl you do need to add more gear oil. I use my finger, as well as many, as a guide. I try and keep the fluid level 1 knuckle below the filler hole.

Where can a guy get a NEW Mx-6707 for a decent price? As well as the As-1729 antenna etc to go with it? I've looked into ebay and they look a bit spendy
Ahh, what's a once in a lifetime adventure worth? Now this is the extreme of sight unseen. I wounldn't stress out over it. What's done is done, just move forward and enjoy your new acquisition. It's just money:p Might as well buy while the greenback has some value left in her.
