No, I'm serious. I can't see a system on the deuce that needs anything like that...well, maybe an A3. What would it accomplish on a multi or the deuce in general?

What is the STE/ICE kit good for? Maybe troubleshooting sensors? or the lighting/electrical system? The engines in the deuces aren't electronic, so how would you use them?

You can actually do it without removing the crank mechanisim. Remove the panel at the bottom, scoop up some grease with your finger and smear it on the gears and latch from the inside...I have long arms :wink:

It's very uncommon for a c to leak coolant into the cylinder, but, if it's sweet smelling, it's most likely a head gasket. One other thing it might be...only seen it 1 or 2 times... is a pitted liner. The liners are spun steel, not cast iron. C's, L10, M11 and ISX are steel and are very...

:ditto: Check the rears too. A tight rear will cause the front to do funny things too.

Another thing, learned it here and it works, parifin wax...warm the slip with the splined part up and melt it into the splines, let it cool, couple of smacks with a hammer and it'll come out. I think that was from Wreckerman!

Cdub, white smoke out the pipe? Does it smell sweet or of fuel? I am assuming that there is a Cummins "C" in this? Remember, white is fuel or coolant. If it's a "C",there's a valve on the fuel pump, front side, between the head and the pump. That's the overflow valve. It's there to build low...

FWIW, the EZ hitch kit I put on my '85 one ton came with 1/2 x13, gr 8 capscrews, 4 each side.

Getting more power and RPM out of the 855 is easy too, but, if they aren't piston cooled, I wouldn't advise doing it. Next week when we go to Fontana, I'll look at some of the 250's that they have on the ground and see what they are like.

Try some good rust gitter, Strong Arm, Liquid Wrench, WD-40, etc. Let it sit, give it a few good smacks with a hammer and back it up with another hammer when you do.

The manual posted here is just a parts manual. The injector rebuild is way to complicated for us here, besides, you need a Hartridge injector machine to flow the injectors. Same for the fuel pumps. IF you got all the correct parts..the governer springs are color coded.. you could get the pump...

That line is comming from the main oil rifle. It might be a switch that won't let the starter engage if there is oil pressure, so when the engine is running, you can't accidentally hit the starter button and put the bendix into the ring gear. 2cents

Tip#2...Don't let the cans turn when you install them, they cut the gasket...ask me how I know...and torque the bolts or they will leak...see above. Just curoius, after the change, see how long it takes for oil pressure to come up.
