    Used Engine Oil

Kinda knew the answer to that one. :-) Not so much the biodiesel part, it's the filtering of WVO that's a PITA. Filters get clogged very quickly and it's generally a mess. Needs to be heated too, to make it go through the filters. Both for biodiesel and WVO, just letting it sit and settle out on...

    Used Engine Oil

Ken, if you have more than one of them there "centrafuges", would you be willing to sell one? I think we could come up with money for a fair price for it. Thanks,

    Deuce

Those lockout switches (circuits 74 and 27) ar not normally found on your average deuce, certainly not the 1960's.

M756 Pipeline Bed install /redneck engineering

Joel, measure at least twice before making the cut-outs, no spare boards available at this time. :-) Make sure the edge boards are in correctly before measuring the stake pocket locations, the boards may have to be worked on to slip under the lip along the sides. Looks good so far.

    Several Bridge Truck Questions

Re: RE: Several Bridge Truck Questions David mentions the Honest John, this image may not answer any direct questions, but may be a lead. The launcher was tagged M289.

    Georgia to Virginia

Joel came by this morning and picked up his locust lumber for the pipeline truck bed. We spent some time checking out the 8x8 and the K-boom on the deuce. He left at around 11:45 hrs. Hope your return trip went smoothely. We were without power here all afternoon and evening until an hour ago...

RE: trucks Hey Tom, welcome to the steelsoldiers! If I may ask, do you still have any leftovers from your XM757 project?

    Solid state flasher

The brake lights do not "go through" the flasher. The flasher only provides a flashing signal which is routed through the flasher control switch on your steering column. You may need to check out the control switch (lever thingy on the steering column).

    Used Engine Oil

A coffee filter is about 10 microns, enough for fuels without impurities (acids, water, minerals, traces of metals etc), but certainly not for used engine oil. I wouldn't burn it for environmental reasons, and if I had to, it would only be a few quarts at a time mixed with plenty of diesel...

    DEUCE spin on oil filters!!!!

The filter I installed uses 3/4 inch hoses which are above the original filter bases and will drain after engine shut down. That will delay time to pressure. IMHO, the crank time should be included in the "time-to-oil pressure". A further note, at start-up, with cool oil, the pressure hits 40...

    Knuckle Boom Crane on M35A2C

That's a great deal! As far as hauling long log etc, they can be loaded all the way to the cab by driving with the boom extended over the rear (not folded into a figure 4). I have hauled 18 foot logs without a problem. The pipeline bed is just over 10 ft long and provides ample loading space. If...

    Oil analysis report... scary!

This is the info I have from the TM's. If you'd like more details, get me your email address and I'll attach the full size pages.

    Horn button help

The wire inside the steering column goes to the horn. It is grounded when you hit the horn button. Now you can figure out the rest. :-)

    Knuckle Boom Crane on M35A2C

This is one of my favs, sideways "winching". A couple of snatch blocks and the block anchors in the pipeline bed does the job.

    Oil analysis report... scary!

I'll have the oil pan gasket next week, so that's about the time frame.

    Knuckle Boom Crane on M35A2C

More images. The crane is mounted to the frame using long bolts, no welding.
