All,
Last night attended the Cumberland County Veterans Council (facebook.com/ccvetcouncil) meeting. The Armed Forces of America Motorcycle Club is organizing the Fayetteville Armed Forces Day, on 16 May 2015. They are looking for some vehicles to round out a static display. This will be a...
Those are of a soon to be range target. I don't know where you can get it. I took them for reference if you have to build it. There's a guy on g503 that seems to be building one.
Yes, tha'ts what I'm referring to, however, the C-pillar in that type is a circular tube, not a squared off tube like normal 4 person styles, it's also welded in making it un=removable.
Yeah, you'd have to re do the whole thing... not saying it couldn't be done, but you'd have to do it. The closest I've seen to there being what you're looking for is the SF/GMV variant, and that is way different than a standard HMMWV. (in terms of c pillar, turret support, etc...)
I'd do a full service on fluids and filters... you don't know what has possibly gotten into it. These were not stored in a nice climate controlled environment, they were shoved into motorpools and left to sit.
Bragg is doing this as the lot they were allotted is a joint DLA(DRMO)/GovPlanet Lot and was apparently chock full (almost bumper to bumper and door to door) of HMMWVs. GovPlanet moved some of "their" HMMWVs off lot. the big trucks are all there, along with construction and other equipment.
I've contacted felix to arrange inspection. Based on the conversation he and I had yesterday it will be Monday or Tuesday.
I can also recover to off site for temp storage until shipment can be arranged (18-wheeler accessible, we can find a ramp if required, but easier if shipper has that...
yeah, that's an RTCH. you'll need to remove the cab, I think it's over width, and the front is removable, but I don't recall if it depends on the operational capability of the tractor itself. depending on the top handlers, it may require a total of 2 trucks to move, one for the tractor and cab...
It is an expansable truck, I can tell from the pics. I will check it next week. Worst case, if you need time to arrange pickup/shipment, I can recover to an off site location and we can go from there. I do not have an issue doing this with anyone who buys out of Bragg. I'm pretty sure between...
WEll, I'm surprised we don't have an update from ABN or Techno... I watched them depart the lot about 1130 or so and headed home. Techno is a great guy. I probably gave him more than he cared to learn in a walk around of the DRMO yard. Oddly, I saw a number of trucks that were under my...
honestly, I was just at the lot today, helping out another ss member pick up his... he's driving, his is about the only 934 I'd see doing great, one other might make it, the 3rd... I'd haul to my APT 5 miles away...
Only thing I would say with your setup is: If you are hauling stuff (anything big, blocky or heavy) you may have issues getting to the tow bar if you break down. I don't know what your access/ability is to get in from the cab side of the box. Just my $0.02 on concerns, beyond that? it looks great!
Had a bunch of generators come in from rebuild with those new fancy touch-panel screens to control it. One of them had moisture inside of the control panel, rendering it inop. Seal/sticker was still intact, never disassembled. replacement cost was in excess of $10K for the panel. I called...
Well, not missing a part, and bent the fuel line to fit where it's supposed to go... batteries are now charging (mystery electrical drain somewhere in the system). might be able to try to re-start tomorrow.
Hey all,
Looking for a few basic parts to improve the quality of my 1952 M38. I understand and know a lot of this is available commercially, just seeing if anyone has spares they want to get rid of.
Open/interested in various M38 'finishing' parts, mainly
HIGH Priority
Front Lifting...
Optimas... personal opinion. But Exides or Interstates or really anything would be ok.
There's a guy who just picked one up from here and drove West... can't remember where, but I'll PM him to contact you if he's not seeing this thread.
Truthfully, if it wasn't fielded on a trailer, I've seen generators on all sorts of stuff. I had a set of three generators in S. Korea welded to a dual or tri-axle trailer that was only a frame. Seen them in the back of M1101/2s, M105s, plenty of HMMWVs up to the HEMMT PPTs that we have in ADA...
HAha, if it ain't working, I'm wandering around to find help to get it working! I'm actually headed to "the shop" where it's stored right now, see if I can figure out if I need to rebend stuff or if I'm just missing a part.
