Filtering diesel fuel at a rate of 3 qts/minute hardly applies to the flat head gas engine. My son has an M37 and uses a single in line filter with success.
Having the fuel tank cleaned will most likely solve your problem.
RE: 5-ton winch, what
It's 20,000 lb (standard 5-ton winch).
I'm pretty sure it came from another XM757, but modified for chain drive.
NSN 2590-043-4241 for the winch.
Looked at the one extra I have, but it's very corroded around the outside edge. It will do the job, but you may be better off getting a new one from somebody else.
If you still want this one, I'll send it 1st class mail tomorrow at no charge. Just provide a mailing addy.
Spare headlights and a spare flasher unit.
Wheel bearing nut socket. (3" octagonal)
Spare coolant hoses.
DVM w/thermocouple adapter.
I had to get a wheel puller for the generator swap.
Think in terms of the task to be performed when bringing tools, which should include electrical, compressed...
This winch, removed from the "homemade" bed of the xm757 is in pretty good shape, it has the wire rope, hook and chain and a sprocket drive.
The (drive)chain and several feet of driveshaft is included plus two other matching sprocket wheels.
Also the rollers, which were welded to the bed.
I'll...
RE: where to buy nylon line?
As suggested by Robert above, http://www.mcmaster.com/. I got part number 5112K65.
I reused the old fittings with new ferrules.
This is the tachograph in "real life". It came from an M52A2 parts truck.
Anybody know anything about the keys needed to open the front and to wind the clock?
Thanks,
Should be 10 gpm and 3,000 psi pressure. Rpm, perhaps 2,000.
20 hp should be sufficient.
There is short drive shaft between the pto and the pump. Yes it could be used if one fabbed a unit from scratch.
Cleaned off the area around the hydraulic head, including removing the oil filter canisters and #3 and #5 injector lines, to gain access to the center plug on the hydraulic head.
Removed the plug.
As suggested by David Doyle, I placed a small steel rod in the opening on the plunger and cranked...
That's right, a smaller engine powering a hydraulic pump, which can run the crane.
The present pump is driven via the pto by the deuce multifuel engine.
The idea is to eliminate long hours at high idle, which may have been part of the reason one of my injectors clogged.
PS. Haven't found...
Is there such an animal? Say an A084 engine powered hydraulic pump.
Thinking about a engine driven pump for my crane as an alternative.
Not sure, but 20 hp should be enough.
Appreciate any info on this.
Hmmm...Kevin, don't think that the tachograph equipped truck tractors are rare, the (July 1972) 9-2320-260-20 manual for the m818 has a 20-page section on it, I got my unit from a parts M52A2 and we have just seen postings by M1075 with his M911 HET truck tractor tachograph.
The clock is spring...
Price sounds about right, but I haven't been shopping.
The large instrument you described is a tachograph. You load it with a paper disc and get a permanent record of your trip with driving habits...
