    The FFS thread…

Every 20 minute job is but one stripped bolt away from becoming a three day ordeal.

Problems with split rim HMMWV tires?

There's no need to change them out.

    Drash Generator power distro box

Various iterations of those boxes are readily available. They vary in input from 40 amps to 200 amps of 208v 3 phase. Output is usually 120v single phase and a pass through for the same 208v 3phase that goes in, so you can stick several of them together. Some of the larger ones only have...

M1101 just rescued from Gov Planet (GovPlanet Refugee)

Some have been found to be too tight. Some found with insufficient grease. I'd be tempted to back it off and inspect it for adequate grease.

    Nhc-250 vs 6cta dump truck

Reverse in the MT654 is 10:1. Adding low range in the T case puts enough torque on it to split the case. I've seen it more than once. Absolutely don't do it unless you want to buy a t case.

    Nhc-250 vs 6cta dump truck

Two separate issues. The first is that the 8.3 has a hard time starting from zero when loaded heavy. The second is the weak T Case. The weak t case is in all 939series trucks. It's just that the 8.3's weakness off the line is more likely to tempt you to use low range in reverse.

Pintle hitch mounting plate orientation / size?

My opinion only, based on towing all kids of military trailers behind all kinds of civilian vehicles. The pintle riser flipped is still going to be far too low to get the trailer level. That's OK, because you're empty and tipping forward biases the weight to the tongue, where you want the...

To blast or not .. and then what. Professional advice sought

Climate makes a huge difference. I'd trade your climate with bare steel against KS or GA + any coating you'd care to use. I've experienced both.

    Missing M1102 Lunette

I took mine apart and cut a slot in it so that I could flip it over to tow level behind a 5ton on 16's. This would have been about 2018 so I don't remember details but I'm thinking it was a proprietary one-off thing. You're going to need that exact part, or a trailer to tow it on. I'll...

    LED headlight lens?

I'd attempt a repair using the stuff they sell for windshields. I suspect that you can get acceptable results that way.

    M939A2 A/C install

Mounts on top with the alternator bracket. Uses longer bolts, which I think I have with it. It uses a longer serpentine belt. I had one (not any more) and didn't think to get the part number off it.

New in the box AC for your HMMWV. Made for the 4 door M998 variant but could probably be adapted to pretty much anything. $2500 Pics in the next few days.
