Tiny bit of progress tonight. Its been hot and I have been working on Generators too much lately, but i was able to wire up the new license plate lights, put a packard connector on and hooked up to the extra lead on the driver side taillight and works fine. final paint and bolted down...
So a sad ending to this thread tonight i put a fuel pump in unit 3 from another unit and it fired right up, for about 30 seconds and then started knocking and slowed down. so at this point the motor is junk and the unit may get parted out. Unit 2 i posted a question in another thread about...
I have a unit that makes power but everytime i close the circuit breaker it trips. I switched breakers with another unit that i have and the same thing happened. the HZ meter show 59 hz and volt meter shows 110 so the only thing i have seen is flashing the field but i do not believe that would...
first things first. does the Generator start and run. You said you purchased a 12v battery for that. Well it would be 2 batteries since its going to be 24v. Military and i clearly see the NATO plug
So unit 3 fuel pump plunger was stuck to the point after soaking in carb cleaner and kroil and every little trick i could think of would not move. As a last resort i used a punch and hammer to force it down because had nothing to lose at this point. It worked and is free pumps really well. got...
Heat trace maybe. curious was this one of the 802a's that have been coming out of Albany Georgia lately. All of those units seemed to have been highly modified with remote start and all kinds of stuff i have not seen before
So after some youtube watching today and better knowledge of how these pumps work i realized that the plunger was stuck on both pumps. I was able to get one pump unstuck and after many many air bleeding evens and a tired arm. the Generator came to life. Unfortunately the electric start does...
I had posted on an old thread but was told to start a new one so here goes i have 3 mep 531a i bought with all having about 63 hours on each. Fuel lines were all rotted away on all 3 units and 1 unit had the fuel bowl, and oil drain plugs missing broken pull cord. The third unit was complete...
Old thread i know, but was hoping for some help. I have 3 MEP 531a i got the first one up at running, new fuel lines and filters and runs great. the next one was missing a few parts but between the last two everything thing is complete. The problem seems to be that the fuel pump just will not...
Its frustrating, when these 2 machines were essentially NOS, best looking units I have seen in a while, and then they want to pay me 50 cents a pounds scrap price for them. They were picked up May 11th,
So this is a long shot but I am just angry and figure its worth a shot. I bought 2 MEP 531a generators that were strapped to pallets at the Butner North Carolina location. Yellow freight said they picked them up, but they never made it to Lima Ohio and were never check in at the Dayton...
not sure if its too late, but i sure could use that air filter cover the front door and those black knobs that hold the covers in place. very unique can not find it anywhere.
MME has an armoured version they bought from a guy who bought it off the assembly line in 2009. I dont like adding video links but on youtube HeavyDSparks takes a tour and they show it in the episode where he bought a Blackhawk helicopter. about the 10 min mark. pretty cool i also saw a...
Batteries will most likely not come back. I used Oreily AGM group 51r batteries in my personal machine, other wise auto zone sells 51r flooded cells for $69 in my area. Definitely make sure oil is full, more than likely you will have to top off the coolant and burp the system. Read the TM...
I got the same letter. I bought a Lightplant/Generator and someone stole the outrigger jacks before it was picked up. 200 dollars for me to replace them but they could care less it was under $750. Iron clad guarantee was worthless

I Created a custom license plate frame and bracket tonight. have not tied in the wires to the extra lead on that taillight but i think it turned out well.
