Silly question, have you inspected the throttle return spring next to the TPS, the one that pushes back on the accelerator cable? Should be a double wire spring.
That’s probably the best way to figure out effectiveness. I think I’ll do the same thing. Possibly from head height of passenger and driver side as that is where I keep my ears usually, as well as finding the loudest areas such as tunnel, foot well areas, and others…
Will post soon as I record...

The factory installed insulation I have in my M1123 has a "channel" up front to where the water could drain over into the drain vent out the floor.
Valid concern if one did seal the floor completely. Maybe easy enough to cut through the material with a long box cutter blade from underneath...
I've read good things about about Kilmat, may be a good product to play with...
Horse stall matts are also an avenue I've considered, the local TSC (Tractor Supply Company Stores) have a decent selection for a good price.
Siless? First to hear of it, looks pretty good online. Soooooo many...

You may want to install the damper with the rod facing down, and the cylinder on the upper part to get more life out of the dampers... That should keep the seals wet and the rod lubricated. IMHO
Other than that, outstanding workmanship.
Trying to do some research on sound proofing / sound deadening, best practices, areas to pay attention to and what to avoid. A preliminary search brought up some posts here on SS and online, but really no comprehensive collection.
For all those that used Kilmat, Fatmax, Lizard skin, Dynamat...
Thank you, I just couldn't find this one even after almost an hour...
This helps tremendously. But it looks like I needed the line nut torque and didn't know it, so you saved my bacon. 20 lb-ft it is for that.
Little update on a minor disaster averted (not by me but by luck). While out and about last weekend ( https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/out-and-about-with-my-hmmwv.201914/post-2588544 ), and back home we noticed a leak of clean and clear fluid, that did not have a diesel smell, dripping from...
I got my used, new to me S3 box and new TSU. Installed them and they worked like designed. Turned to run, voltage dropped upon plug light coming on, raised upon light turning off, and stared immediately whilst 55 degrees in the garage. Last time I started it, it took a good 10-15 seconds and...

The Black Hills are considered holy and sacred by the local Native Americans, the Oglala Sioux tribe, and Lokata, Dakota and Nakota tribes. There is something very magical and mystical about this place. Dances with wolves was filmed here, and Kevin Costner fell in love.
If you ever make it up...
We took the truck rock crawling yesterday, in Piedmont trails in South Dakota. A 3.7 mile trail took about 1.5 hours, a lot of it was crawling speed.
Nice views from 2/3ds from the top of the hills:
But when I came home, we noticed a leak in the front right brake area, needs investigating...

That is great info, thanks good Sir. I was able to purchase a used, but guaranteed working S3 unit with matching TSU. When it gets here and I am able to test, I’ll post about it.
I will review the instructions and maybe build a spare unit. Thanks for the post.

Good advice, been thinking in along those lines. Thanks. Besides the newest ESSS, which is most reliable in your opinion? Any model stand out over others?
I appreciate all info and opinions.
EDIT:
'Been considering the manual boxes talked about by many members here, but would like to stay...
I've been able to find some more info on this EESS box. It seems to be Prestolite or Ametek with P/N 12446779. It also seems the TSU is correct for htis box.
What are the chances this can be fixed? Does anyone have a step by step guide? I see no burn marks or other obvious damage:
Hey all,
just to pick up where I left off a few weeks ago, my symptoms are Glowplugs are not being fired. Wait light comes on for 5-6 seconds, hard start now that the temperatures dropped from the 90s to the 60s and 70s, lots of smoke, no voltage drop when turning to run during the wait light...
