    It's alive!!!

I was leaning towards that as well. If you zoom in, you can see the old gasket has metal inserts where the bolts run through, sort of a spacer function? The actual seal part is really only 1 or 2 ribs.

    It's alive!!!

'mornin' all, I need some advice on the transmission pan gasket. This morning I pulled the pan off and am replacing the filter. The fluid looks great, no leaks from the gasket in the past, very little metal on the magnet. So far so good. Looking at the gasket, the TM says to reuse the gasket...

Need help with power steering issue from hell

I really don't mean to sound sarcastic, but have you paid attention to the directional turn signal apparatus? I know mine binds up (I mean really binds up) when I get to the point the "trigger" reaches the turn signal assembly. I have gotten used to it until it fails. Then I will replace mine..

2 MAN soft top install... Looking for help or drawings/instructions...

You're welcome. Yeah, it's weird, but my cross bow fits great... double check yours when you install. Also, put your doors on to make sure there's no gap.

Now I understand. I'll be back at my truck in an hour or two. I'll be able to take measurements and pictures unless someone else is faster...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Interesting. I’ve been pushing around the same thought, and for 210 miles i had to fill up 17 gallons (almost even). That brought me to 12.35 mpg on my M1123, 6.5 non turbo. But a lot of idling and starting while troubleshooting. Gonna repeat the test in the near future…

    It's alive!!!

Now recalling a few days ago when I had a chance to replace the fuel filter, the fuel water separator was not present. I will need to get a new one ordered, and noticed there are different versions out there. Some are made of plastic, other of steel mesh (Stainless?). Are both original, or...

Do you have pictures showing what area exactly? I am sure most folks know, but don't understand the info you need.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

A short while ago I replaced my windshields, got them off of Fleabay from a great vendor. Lowered the price nd gave free shipping. I was able to re use the gaskets, they were somehow still very serviceable. And, following someone's' lead here on the board, I turned $11 Wally World wipers into...

You're way ahead of me then. 130 miles in 12 days... Sweet looking rig. A little jealous...

    It's alive!!!

Update on the (lack of) power steering. It is now fixed. After tightening the connector, jacked it as high as I was able, couldn't quite get 15 degrees, but close enough. Then, engine off, 20-30 times. Had to top off the reservoir, twice. But now it works like a charm. Thanks TNDriver, TOBASH...

Loss of power over 35 mph and black out of exhaust on acceleration

I don't have a clue about cats, just thought to ask. A goner then, I take it.

Loss of power over 35 mph and black out of exhaust on acceleration

Hey RWH, is that a replacement for sure, or can a cat be revived? Also, in this case, is it constant black smoke, or only high demand? Thank you good sir.

Loss of power over 35 mph and black out of exhaust on acceleration

Not much to see on the filter, but the bowl was filled with debris in the cup. If that is what was still lose in the bowl, the filter has most likely 10fold in the element...

Transmission cooling line popped off while driving

I stand corrected, I was mistaken. The line I was looking at was the fuel line, just like @Retiredwarhorses stated, and it was NOT the line I reconnected but that is what I remembered. In my feeble mind I mistook all the lines for the same size. Here is what the mess under the truck looks like:

Transmission cooling line popped off while driving

Dang,I've heard of the slime. In this case, I just replaced the fuel filter this morning. (Yeah, I know, @Mogman already reprimanded me... :cautious:) The filter looked ok, but I am sure it was pretty clogged, as the truck runs so much better, just around the driveway. I'll be doing a test run...
