Your location says Whittier CA, a quick look at the municipal code there says you can't park a commercial vehicle on any street.
See it here: https://www.municode.com/library/ca/whittier/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=TIT10VETR_CH10.40COVE section 10.40.020
It says they define "commercial...
What you have is the older model DC generator used on the M577 tracked command post as an auxiliary power unit. It powered all the radios and other electronics instead of running the main engine all the time. What you see on plugs is the DC output from the generator and the dc power from the...
I'm pondering this issue as well.
Could you bolt a generic steering dampener to the tie rods and would that help keep the shakes from developing?
How about chaining the draw bar straight by getting it lined up and then running a chain and binder from each side tie down on the front axle to the...
Take the common stuff:
Wheel bearing large
Wheel bearing small
Race for large bearing
Race for small bearing
Wheel seal
Magnetic trailer lights
Spare tire- any CUCV 8 lug or common chevy 1 ton wheel works
7/8 lug wrench
3/8 bolt or pin to lock out the brakes in case there is an issue with...
Some last minute stuff in I can bring-
OE-254 antenna set, complete, even has the lube and sledgehammer. $275
Stretchers, correct for the CUCV or HMMWV ambulance, 4 available. They look virtually new $35 each. Make good cots for the camp sight too.
HMMWV pioneer racks, used $35 each 2 available.
You have already replaced the starter and the relay and it is doing the same thing?
Start at the batteries and check every battery cable and connection for integrity and clean them all, all the way to the starter, and verify your ground connections from the block to the frame are good.
That would be a bad mix- not only would the smell never go away but the result would be highly, highly flammable where the original treatment was fire resistant.
The product you seek to do it right is CANVAK, here is a link to it.
Its usually done to allow rucksacks to be carried as shown on there with troops sitting on field expedient benches or the cargo facing outward so they can employ weapons easier.
That is exactly what I was going to post. The Cat type battery keys are perfect, especially if you mount it out of sight.
Amazon has them for under $25.
Military padlock sets-
I have these sets that are very unique. They are not keyed alike but all have individual keys- but they also are set up for a master key.
This means you can have individual keys that only fit one lock to hand out to people but you can keep just one lock on your ring to...
One more thing I thought of this material was made to repair parachutes and is great for fixing soft tops and rips in seat covers. I have some seats I patched with this as a "temporary" fix 4 years ago that are holding well.
It is a strong ripstop nylon material- literally the same stuff...
White smoke means you are getting fuel but it is not reaching ignition temperature. My bet is on your glow plug system having an intermittent fault, likely either the solenoid or a ground issue.
If you just want a cutofff as an anti theft/battery drain measure it is hard to be the Caterpillar battery switches. Same ones as used in all Cat equipment and they are keyed so people can't just switch them.
I had a lot of or M998's and M1114's in Afghanistan wired with them on the battery...
