No should not sound like that.
Also sounds dry with bearing rumble.
And the rear bearing is not a bushing, i'ts a caged needle bearing.

The inner and outer bearing nuts have nothing to do with the inner axle not getting the clip on.
Those nuts Must be adjusted correctly for proper bearing pre-load.
Take a small pry bar, reach around the backing plate and gently pry the axle U joint toward the Hub.
The axle slides inward while...
Found the problem.
Ground issue from Neg. post front battery to the engine.
Either front Battery Neg. to Buss Bar, or Buss Bar to rear Engine, haven't checked

All seems tight, but something going on.
Connected a 10 gage jumper from Battery Neg. to Right Alt. bracket...
Ok, I got out my retractable leads and connected the control ground to Neg. terminal on battery no change.
While had it out I backed up other grounds under the dash no change.
Now starting to think in another direction.
I have noticed lower volt reading from the dash gauge.
It climbs up to...
Well not much progress.
Using VOM at the GP Controller plug, I have 12.29 volts between Ing. 12v power pink/blk 39A
And controller ground Blk 151A.
I have sprayed and cleaned the connection to the GP Card, pulled apart and cleaned the

Cleaned and...

LMC has some, but Classic Industries has the best selection I found, for all GM trucks.

Separate the batteries and load test each one.
One of them is not up to snuff.
Usually the front battery dies first, because it does all the work, along with the Gen 1

That's the flywheel housing drain hole.
It stay's open until you plan to ford water then a
Plug is installed.
Nothing to worry about, unless you have large amounts of
Oil running out.
Usually means leaky rear main seal.

I would call or Email Tom and ask him.
He will gladly tell you what you need to do.
Having not done the swap myself, if you think modifying or making a new arm
Will solve your problem, then do it.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than us will chime in.
My truck as I said has a 12 to 14" hose from the steel line to the WC.
There is a clamp about half way securing it to a bracket on the knuckle.
Maybe it was changed during rebuild or by previous owner (state of IL).
I don't know.
