I dont think you will like the results of a single axle dolly without landing gear on the trailer. dont put anything you want to keep between the front of the trailer and the dolly. you may want to chock the front of the dolly wheels to keep bad things from happening. just my thoughts.
I use 4 31's but I live where it gets cold. I have to wonder tho how the starter likes repeated use with only 2 batts. low amps cant be good for it. but thats just how my three brain cells think.
the rite size ends are avalible from truck shops. you may have to look around a little to find one that has an old kit around tho because most equipment now a days does not use cables. when you find the rite end just carefully grind the old end of the cable and crimp on the new one.

Kenny, thats exactly why i went that route. flat platform to start with so it can be used for nondriven axles and then raised lop sided forks for driven axles.
best luck I had was torching most of the head off then grinding the rest down flat. then using a punch that is just a little smaller diameter than the rivet and the biggest hammer you can swing and give it heck.
