I think I might have an air gremlin. I wonder if I could some how put positive pressure at the reservoir to see if any of my return lines are leaking.
I bet something crazy is up like a line that is letting air in but not showing any obvious signs of leaks.
Hey all, I’ve been trying to get my m1165a1 up and running when I can get to my dads building 3 hours from home…. So getting this problem solved has been a nightmare.
Issue: insanely difficult steering, foamy power steering fluid and a HORRID noise coming from (I believe the booster).
I...
My m1165a1 has these brackets behind the rear seats under the fender.
The black cover above it is the a/c condenser cover. The cover is just hanging and has 3 holes (presumably for support)
The bracket below it looks like it was for armor (5340015358707).
My question is, what have you guys...
It’s a forum dude. We should be allowed to discuss, auctions, prices, markets if that’s what we want to talk about. If you don’t want to be a part of the conversation, move on.
Yeah I dont know how people think the slant's are worth 8k in the current market. If people are buying, more power to ya.... but like you... anyone can get a parts truck for stupid cheap right now lol
Ditch the stupid system and go to a manual system. If you’re good with electronics, build it yourself. If you want a solid and reliable solution, buy a CAMO box.
you won’t regret it.
Dumb question but how does one know a steering box is bad? My 1165 came with a PS issue. Air in fluid, bad noise. Bled it out, power steering took hold. Sat for another few weeks and air must have gotten in the system all over again.
My guess is that I have a leak in the hoses because I noticed...
I thought I was nuts so I even removed the CDR just to test the bolts directly on the bracket…
I guess at this point I need to buy bolts the next sizes down and just test them next time im with the truck.
Either that or get a new bracket.
Before you all call me dumb, I had read the TM (multiple of them... they all suggest 5/16-16x1.25... I have the bolts, and they did not fit.
I'm unfortunately not with the truck (in another state) to play trial and error or guess that bolt. Can anyone tell me an alternative bolt that may fit...
