If you're going to just scrap the Oshkosh and have it crushed, why would you not offer it up to fellow SS members for scrap price first? You would get the same price for it either way, but would get the satisfaction of having a MV live on another day and at the same time an SS member would get a...
Pull the rubber bed mat out of your Dually, and throw it on the smooth steel floor of the M105 for grip/traction. It'll cover most of the floor. 300 pound calfs arn't very big, your trailer will work fine once their inside, and the tailgate and backrack are shut. If for some reason it just...
Boy, that's one clean looking truck. I bet most people will assume it came built from the factory like that for the military, not knowing it is a modified truck.
@ Warthog,
Yes, I know the rules. It wasn't a link to an ad or anything for sale. It's from the "Best of" section. There is no contact information, phone number or anything on that order from that link I posted. Just a highlight from a page of a once apon a time funny post.
It's ironic that you brought that up. I just seen it on best of CL this morning.
(to the mods...it's an old outdated ad)
*** EDIT ***
deleted link.
It is still an Craigslist Ad. No links unless it is your own. You should know the rules by now.
Well this thread got me motivated enough to finally get around to making my jack mount.
I kept it simple and cheep. I used 2” square tube, drilled two holes, and welded nuts inside to bolt the mounts to the top of the trailer fender. I welded a bolt to the inside of the end cap to hold the...
Just to give the heads up for future reference. Memphis does indeed have them in stock. (just not listed on their website) Like Seth_O replied, they carry the four-piece gasket for $16.17. I was just going to use silly-cone on the new oil pan, but for that price, I'll throw an actual gasket...
Now that springs here, I have to do an oil change in the Deuce. While the oil is drained, I’m going to do an oil pan swap due to the dreaded GL fork truck.
I searched the typical sites (Memphis, White Owl, Eastern) and even ebay. I couldn’t fine anyone of them, that carry an oil pan gasket...
With every Bobbed Deuceout there, there's a complete extra rear axle laying around. You can pick up a rear axle from $250 to $350 (under the right deal, even cheaper).
If you contacted a off road 4x4 shop that specializes in 2 1/2 ton stuff, I bet you could get the take-out spider...
Mine came off a Deuce. Many parts trucks out there, so you should be able to score one easily enough. I see them sell anwhere from between $25 and $50 bucks.
Cut it shorter to the proper size with a new razer blade (to give you a nice clean cut) and super glue it back togather.
Most large O-rings are made this way.
I alway wonder why certain SS members that are against modifying military trucks, even go to the "Modifying and Hot Rodding" forum. Makes no sense to me.
They add absolutely nothing to the thread or conversation, and come off as self-importand and snobbish.
Here's a picture for you, to get the idea of what goes where.
Mine's loaded with non-original tools. My trucks not a show queen, so the pioneer tools in the rack get used from time to time. I don't need them to be "authentic" they just need to work.
