Take your flywheel to a engine machine shop and have them do the conversion. This type of work is something done in the hot rod world all the time. Generally it's a four to eight bolt conversion, but a good machine shop should be able to convert four to six.
Try canvas suppliers like Beachwood or WeeBee Webbing. There are special Murphy snaps because they have a machine screw on the back and most places that carry them only have ones with wood screws.
Here is another resource for you. http://www.deltateamdecals.com/ He makes a good product also. The best thing to do is do a google search for the army manual on marking of vehicles during the Korean War. A quick search pulled up this TB746-93-1 Color and Marking of Military Vehicles but it's...
Depending on how deep the pitting is if it's light you might be able to just hone the walls and be good. A good machine shop should be able to tell you what you can get done and for how much, but the fix is not bad.
That body sure has come a long way. I like the dip stick and oil filler being painted yellow....though in my travels and time in the military I only saw them panted red...but yellow is more in line with modern practices. Good work. Keep us posted.
Have you found a way to not use black or galvanized pipe connectors on the frame? On the prototype there are elbow and tees and I was just wondering if you found a different way to give a smoother look to the bow's?

The pins are easy to find. Many places have them including Rapco and many other vendors. If it is just a matter of the correct hitch pins to hold the windshield up then you have an easy fix. Over the years I have seen pins that people bought at the hardware store, bolts with nuts (seen that...
It's your ride do with it what you want. Someone will give you grief no matter what you do. Could be perfectly restored to factory just rolled off the assembly line and some "expert" would tel you that you were wrong....so you want a rat rod...make it a rat rod....you want it to be motor pool...
I wouldn't worry about your brother. I'm no expert but they look as good as the factory ones I've seen over the years. You shouldn't have any problems. :)
If you have the original harness to start with use that as the template to make the new one. More than likely you will have to guess -a- mate the correct length of a wire where it is either missing or has been hacked up etc. Always better to guess longer than needed you can always readjust it's...
Congrats on your new Mutt and welcome to the madness. You'll find that many 151s are miss identified. Say they are a 68 when they really are a 63 etc. Is yours a cut in half or a complete body? Cut in half could also be reason for miss identification because when folks welded them back...
Word! I did that many years ago went from 8 down to one and now I just have my one project that I'm working on and once it's done (if ever) I will just enjoy driving and maintaining it.
Looking good and you're doing a great job. Just wondering what you are going to do with the chrome work on the truck. Sand blast it and paint? Leave chrome? Paint over and hope for the best?
China and their car company bought the rights to manufacture the HMMWV in China. So there is no copyright infringement because they already have permission.
As for the video game I think what will happen is the VG Maker will settle out of court and give AMG a little wad of cash to make them...
