Looks like you have a strong case. Maybe get a crashed one from them that the drive train is all good. Do a swap and have lots of spare parts. But that’s a ton of work.

search molex connectors. I think they are the .093 size but check yours using a drill bit with the same diameter or calipers. Search Amazon for crimp tools.
Actually if you could tap the hole without drilling it any larger would be the better route. Reason being if you went the plate method you would have to machine an oring groove it the plate to match the valve body. Because the wheel doesn’t have the grove in it and it seals on the flat surface...
