Trans fluid from HMMWV air cleaner?

This past weekend I dropped the transmission pan and changed the transmission filter. Someone PMd me that the delayed transmission engagement could be a bad o-ring on the transmission filter pick-up tube. The o-ring was intact, but hard. I replaced that o-ring and it appears to have solved the...

    Hmmwv won't start

This might help: http://gear-report.com/help-hmmwv-wont-start-humvee-glow-plug-start-system-maintenance But looking at pasts posts, I didn't see responses about adding a grounding harness. Have you done that? How about continuity checking the glow plug wires from the control box to each glow...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Installed a couple of cheap LED off-road light (http://amzn.to/2mnhpGn) on the mirror brackets, side facing. The Solargizer panel worked well enough that I also formalized it's installation. :) And I created a running list of all DIY upgrades and modifications to ...

Do you need the napa housing, or will the bulbs you mentioned work in the standard housings?

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

SHOT is a friggin' zoo. I had a team of 6 there this year covering range events and the show floor. It was exhausting! Thanks. I just bought a bunch of used, but serviceable soft tops, rear curtains and cargo covers yesterday, so I'm good on that part. However, maybe I'll reach out to Breton...

Haven't been updating the progress on the Project Humvee Battlewagon like I should... Got busy getting ready for SHOT Show, then the crush post SHOT follow-up. Lining up a bunch of upgrade project reviews with companies we met at SHOT. http://gear-report.com/category/humvee Our LED headlights...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Pardon my ignorance? What is the point of the newer style hooks? Are the old hooks too weak for an upArmored HMMWV?

    Budget HMMWV LED headlights review

As noted in the review, they work on 24v. Not sure on any other Trucklite models.

    Budget HMMWV LED headlights review

Right. He list the 07392 as "headlights"... and they aren't. They are flood lights. It is not safe to use flood lights as headlights since they have no cut line and blind oncoming traffic.

    Budget HMMWV LED headlights review

But the Maxximas are $200 per light (http://amzn.to/2h91nxE)... so about 4x the cost. Not everyone can justify $400 for lights when $120 will get you similar performance.

    Budget HMMWV LED headlights review

I am anxious to see how they last as well. Nothing to make me nervous so far. I looked at several of the more expensive brands and really don't like that they don't officially sell to civilians. Anything you can get is grey market and totally unsupported by the manufacturer. I figure that with...

yep. That is the guy that sold me the Trucklite flood lights and said they were headlights.

    Budget HMMWV LED headlights review

Howdy gang! I'm pretty pumped at finding these. Been using a set of Trucklite 07392 for a month. BRIGHT lights, but the fleabay seller said they were headlights... turns out they are single beam FLOOD lights from the lighting kits for bigger trucks. He removed them from the mounts and sold them...

Interior area of M998 / M1038 for paint or bedliner?

I hear ya. 2 weeks ago we had a steady drizzle all day... enough that it washed dirt and sand into the drain holes and clogged them. Had a half inch of water on the driver's side.

    Restitch Windows

I've made a fair amount of outdoor gear using a "thread injector" (if making a dress the same machine would be called a "sewing machine"). I didn't see anyone mention that you really need to use heavy duty polyester thread. Even better if you can find one that is UV treated. Typical cotton or...

Interior area of M998 / M1038 for paint or bedliner?

Thanks. It does. I'll see if this is enough info for them, or if I have to actually measure it. :) BTW, one concern the brand guy mentioned to me was that bedliner will still off-gas toxic stuff long after it is cured when exposed to heat. I initially thought I would do sound deadening first...

Interior area of M998 / M1038 for paint or bedliner?

What is the interior surface area of the 998/1038 trucks? An upcoming review on Gear Report will be application of a sound control and ceramic insulation coatings on the entire interior. The manufacturer asked "Please measure the application area we want to completely encapsulate the entire...
