The stuff I used was plenty thick. The factory stuff was mostly gone, so after replacing it with the auto parts weather stripping, I had to adjust the doors OUT just a little and the latch pieces so the doors would sit flush against the weather stripping and still close properly. If I redo...
That's what I did. Local auto parts store had some that was a 14ft long strip and it almost did the whole door and cost under $30. It leaves a small gap, but is still better than nothing! After I put that on my doors I had to readjust the doors to close properly. No more drafts coming in...
Interesting. Dumb question cause I have never looked closely...but could that be a regular door handle that is flipped upside down? I have had mine out but never paid close enough attention to see if they could be swapped to the other side and flipped upside down.
Yeah I think your biggest issue will be the hydraulic tank and the steel box guard around the tank. I noticed on mine (with regular 395's) that the tire gets a little close to that guard when turning. I would love to see a pic when you get them all mounted up! If they are usable then I would...
As a workaround, you could unhook your CTIS controller and air up the tires manually from the valve stems. I have thought about doing this for highway trips to inflate the tire a little more, try to eek out that last little bit of speed. Then when you get to where you are going to offroad...
The biggest thing I have done with mine is to take it to the Denton NC rally for the last two years. Camped in the back of it during the rallies.
I find it funny how everyone always asks me "what do you do with that?" I drive it. People ride motorcycles all the time and I don't hear you...
Unrelated, but would you mind posting some photos of the fittings for the shelters? I'm sure I'm not the only one curious about how that setup looks and works. It would be worth posting a new thread for those of us curious!
This. I have been trying to talk mine into building an "extreme RV". A big part of the convincing was how nice it would turn out. She was not amused at my joking how we could just use a couple of the army field hospital beds in the back, LOL.
I wondered how these tires were so resilient to dry rot and cracking like seems to plague most consumer tires. I have a set of Nitto's on a suburban that have held up very well also. Now I'm wondering if there is an easy way to tell which civilian car/truck tires have similar resistance to UV...
This is a great tip. Do you have part numbers and/or sources for the needed seals and guides? Would you mind cross posting this to the thread below to add to that knowledge base?

I was thinking about doing this too. I already have H4 conversion housings and wiring, but they are kind of dim with the regular bulbs. I am thinking either silverstars or chance a pair of H4 LED bulbs from the 'bay.
tennmogger, would you mind copy/pasting this to the thread below? If Overdrive doesn't mind, maybe add his pic in there too. This is a great bit of troubleshooting information. I had hoped to kind of consolidate some of the air system info into a single thread where appropriate. Worthwhile...
