You will have to drill whatever holes you don't have for options added.
GM replacements, and higher end aftermarket pieces will have dimples where the holes go but
Not drilled, and not all holes either.

I think I would disconnect the Batteries so you don't burn anything else up.
Probably to late, but disconnect them anyway, before you burn it to the ground.
You need to start reading the stickies and TM's.
Read,Read Read!
BTW,
Once the glow plugs burn out you will see 24 Volt at the relay...
Sometimes the indicator cable breaks and can be replaced.
However if the dash is worn or broken out as Rich said,
I use a sheet metal screw with a hollow rivet as a roller screwed into
The dash.
Fixed many this way and still working fine.
Tom
It's probably a "Mico Lock (line brake)
They are not for permanent parking as the possibility of pressure bleed off is present causing catastrophic
Consequences.
From Mico
"MICO® Brake Locks are for supplemental parking and are to be used in conjunction with a vehicle's mechanical parking...
Ok Rich I'm following what your saying ,
"if your front battery has a dead short or dead, you have no 12 volts until your alts start producing. thus you cant heat glow plugs.
if the front battery is just dead, it will produce 12 volts with the 24 running through it so the IP will open. IF...
So Obviously No One wants to explain why you have to have the resistor's working
To jump start from another MV via slave cable.
I say BS!
Truck A is dead, plug truck B into truck A via slave cable.
Current flows through cable to 24V buss bar, down to the Starter.
It also back feeds to the...
I have read that comment before.
Can you explain to me why that would be a problem?
I mean when you plug in the donor vehicle to jump yours
The current will back feed to the batteries and light the Glow plugs Right?
Tom
Your resistors are probably fine.
You have to "load" the resistors for them to drop
Voltage.
So with all eight glow plugs working you will see 12-14 Volts
At the relay.
As one plug fails the voltage comes up (rises) causing a domino failure
Effect on the plugs.
Read the sticky's top of CUCV...
The right Alt. is not 24V.
It see's 24V., but both Alt are the same 12volt isolated ground.
And yes only the pass. side needs to be isolated. In reality the Gov. just used the same on both side for cost,
And parts convenience.
Why the serpentine belt?
Your just trying to reinvent the wheel...
Not to bust your parade but it will tow like a dog on the hills and most likely overheat.
Even with 4,56 gears wouldn't be much better.
These engines with non turbo are Gutless with over 10,000lbs.
Tom
Diesel kleen is not an anti gel.
However in your location I would not think you would need much of one.
I run Stanadyne in everything here.
In the winter I continue to use it and a healthy dose of Power Service Supplement (white bottle)
Tom
Call a vendor unless someone has a aftermarket number, and get a new fitting.
Just because you got a used one, don't mean it doesn't have the same problem.
Also you sure the flare on the pipe is not leaking?
It's either cracked or deformed.
