The picture cucvrus posted is correct.
At least with my M1028A2 and M1008.
Besides, it put both Alt. on the same diameter size crank and water
Pump pulleys.
The PS is on the two smaller pulleys.

I know nothing about the Rosscom conversion as I'm not interested in doing a change over, but
Wouldn't the Left(drivers) side Alt. be the one you would use for 12V?
And the Right (Pass) side used as an optional, Alt?
Tom
Well that explains it for me.
I was referring to the square body trucks (73-87).
Don't know much about the GM trucks after the model change in 88,91 for one tons and suburban's.
After I saw GM went to Independent Front suspension, I knew I bought my last new GM truck.
Tom
I have never seen a 14 bolt under a one ton with dual wheels and a pickup box from GM.
As far as I know they were in cab & chasiss and one ton single wheel pickups.
Tom
I can try and get a better measurement.
It is real close to 59" +-1/4
I'm measuring between the welded flange on the housing were the backing plate rivets to.

Thanks.
The width is for sure different between a cab and chassis and one with a pickup bed.
Pickup being wider.
You will need to check the one you have beings from a c&c it's probably to narrow.
I never understood why GM would do that the way they did.
The wider rear under a flatbed or box...
Looks like you have everything.
FYI,
The wheels look correct, the front adapters are not GM but look good.
Wonder who made them?
Although my 1028A2 has the rear sway bar installed by the military,
Civilian K30, never had the rear sway bar as an option.
2 wheel drive only.
I'm suspecting you do...
Why not just use the 12v junction block on the firewall by the glow plug relay.
Pretty sure the third battery idea has been covered before.
Try a search.
Tom
Use your measurements and mount the lights, run the wire down the "A" pillar
And plug into the cab light terminal on the main light switch. Done.
Post up a picture.
Tom
You can check your differential if it makes you feel better, and do make sure your U-joints are
Not going bad.
But I will tell you that the No-Spin equipped differential has a lot of back lash to it.
It's in the locker itself and not the ring and pinion.
The 20deg of movement your seeing is...
The Temp light only lights while cranking, and only in the run position when overheated.
I couldn't find the trouble shoot other than low coolant light myself.
You could remove the green wire from the sensor on the front drivers side head and ground it
With the key on and see if it lights.
If...
As long as the hubs are locked you can shift 4x4hi to 2x4 hi while moving, as long as a wheel is not spinning.
Hi range to Low range or Low to High you should be stopped, and with practice.
Tom
I agree 100% with why it was done the way it was.
I have been driving my M1028A2 for five years now, daily during the winter, occasionally in the summer.
With nothing more than maintenance.
However the starting system is a different story. Did your relay modification and still had an...
All your doing is using 12v to pull the drive in and complete the 24v starting motor.
"You are using an12V circuit to energize a 24V starting circuit."
Are you not doing the same with the under dash relay?
