No, one of the crushing crew members hit it with a forklift. I pulled the engine and sold it complete for 2,000. Good oil pressure, fired right up, sounded good, no smoke, ran cool, clean oil and coolant just would not go forward. He needed one for an ag application...
It will make a pretty good showing, unless you get a real experienced sled operator that adjusts for the heavy weight. Not much chance of hurting anything, it will pull you down in speed until the tires can no longer hold the track. The 813 will be slow, no matter how you go...
I posted that shut off valve several times, it is not hooked to the shutdown cable at all. These 8.3 engines look like they adapted the shutdown from the 250 and all of the cables look bent.
It will back up in low range, but will not go forward, the engine dies as soon as we shift. It does not sound like it does any fluid drive at all, no U joint movement, no lugging, no idle drop, nothing, just like you turned the fuel off.
Mine must be different than the rest of yours as it will back up easily on three flat tires, drive though, shuts it off immediately. The engine dies as if the fuel was turned off. I guess I should watch the shut down solenoid.
We unloaded a 934A2 this week, started it up and backed it off of the trailer. It runs good and sounds good.....
The air tank drains were left open and do not seal, so the truck does not build air pressure. The brakes are caged however, so it rolls freely. When we backed it off of the trailer...
You make it sound so easy! We destroyed a 105 frame with two loaders trying to pull the pintle. Heated it, beat on it, tied a 20 foot chain onto it and took off with my deuce..... That baby was flat stuck in there.
I sold my 1968 to a good home, great truck, I am sure he will both improve and enjoy it. Down to the 1971 and I have guys wanting to buy it. Hard to think about being deuceless again....
The best driving deuce I ever drove was on 186 Goodyears, 1100 20s singled. I had 1100 G-177s on one deuce and 1100 XLs on the other. I liked the Michelins better, so I sold the G-177s and put another set of XLs on the other deuce. I like the dualled look, but singled 1100s is the way to go.
I see I am running behind here too! We have the fuel caps, they fit in a small flat rate box and are easy to ship. You can probably buy new cheaper.
We do not have a good M1009 rear window regulator. We only bought two M1009s and they were both bad. I need one as well. Glen
You are way ahead of me! I have no idea what a #am598/u amplifier is. I would check to make sure you have good fuel flow to the pump, clean filters and that the fuel shut off handle has not been pulled. Follow the cable from the fuel shut off to the fuel pump. The valve should be in the forward...
125 dollars, but they are about all spoken for. I must have been way too cheap, they left in a hurry. I would rather see them used than rotting in a trailer.
Now Dave, his name is Thor. He was adopted for my mother in law. When I took him to the vet to be neutered, he was yet unamed. They wanted a name for the chart and being a wise guy... I said after what he just went through, he has to be Thor, it stuck. He loves to run and that eventualy got him...
Just swing by the office at 1504 State. The crusher crew was on the road, so there probably will not be anybody in the yard this week. My security team consists of two white German Shepherds and a black Chihuahua. There is also a black short terrier mix of some sort, no worries about him though...
