I cant really follow the tm legitimately due to the arrangement I have. The second air pack has an air line coming in straight from third tank. It then has one port plugged. Then the third port is the vent line that goes up to the t above driveshaft where the master vent and first airpack vent...
The original air pack was just rebuilt. The second air pack was a working pull off of another truck. Incidentally, prior to starting the dual conversion, i had rebuilt the original air pack because i had fluid spraying out of the very same vent. Now its just constant air. I'm at a loss. If...
So I have finished up my conversion using the a3 parts. Brake bracket, pedal installed, third air tank for more air, dual air packs. Everything is plumbed, bleed today and have firm pedal, but now the vent tube behind turbo at firewall is gushing air. No fluid seems to be spraying, just air from...
Sorry to bring up a dead thread, but anyone have the actual part number from Allison for the TPS? I may be needing one soon for a new ride. The part that should be the sensor in TM does not resemble the actual one in real life. I hope someone has changed it out and kept the #. Thanks!
So I have gotten my dual master with pedal assembly, another air pack and another air tank in order to split my brakes. After looking at the split brake TM, it only shows two air tanks. Do I need to install a third or was this just a suggestion in some of the posts, as I do not see a third tank...
Go to gear-report.com. There is an article on there for lizard skin. I have seen it in that HMMWV and rode in it. Does help considerably. I am contemplating pulling my exhaust and getting it ceramic coated or even wrapping it myself. There are some good results with horse stall mats too. I...
Well the original dual master has not panned out yet. Maybe I will get back around to fooling with it. In the meantime I bought this off the auction site. I believe its from an A3. I saw where another person had adapted it over to work with the clutch. I guess this weekend will be spent...
I am running a third battery, tapped off the 200 amp dual voltage alt. I run small lights, phone charger etc off that. I have voltmeters for both the 3rd batt and the other two(24v side). I have tested while running and the charges are always the same for both sides, with some fluctuation during...
Looks good. I was planning to bob mine, but went full on now, with a crew cab under construction. The 105 springs will do fine, they have more capacity than the front with overload. I am sure you've seen the xm381 bob links online. I was just following that until my wife found a crew cab pic...
I am not too far from ya now, and went to college there at WCU. The snakes seem to be getting more widespread in my opinion. My dad got bit by a rattler a few years ago, but luckily it didn't inject him, just sliced him up a little. I have killed several copperheads on my property. True story, I...
Well I ordered some taps and dies for the oddball ports. Going to try to machine them out myself with some help at a friends shop. Plan on getting them to size and them tapping the centers to fit the 1/2-20 lines to the airpacks.
Well I have the master cylinder on the counter trying to find a way to downsize the ports on it to match the tubing for the airpacks. I'm not having a lot of luck. One port is 11/16-18 and the other is 3/4-18, with inverted flares. I have found some adapters for one but they only go to -an...
I'd honestly start there. It needs to be done, these things sit for long periods of time and fluids will go bad. Get you a full trans kit with filter and gasket, and look for metal in the pan. The hubs are quite easy to drain and fill other than having to remove the wheels. There isn't much...
Have you checked the fuel at the port off the filter canister to verify the spurting there? In the driver wheel well, on the vertical panel should be a hose going to a petcock. Open it while running or cranking to check for water, etc and you can possibly confirm the spurting. Have you also...
As for the bracket I’m thinking of mocking it up in card board first, then some thin sheet steel. After getting it located I’ll have it done in 1/4 steel. Of course that plan will change I’m sure lol. I probably will go with three tanks. There’s not a lot of spare parts places close by though...
Second that simp. Get them boosted and then try again. Use a voltmeter or multimeter to check your charge coming in to them while running. Don't trust the stock gauge.
Well I just ordered that master cylinder, next I will try to get the fitting size adapted down to the correct line size and order another airpack and tank. If I remounted the reservoir in the cab would that be high enough to act as residual pressure? I was thinking on the left side on the kick...
