What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Got all the wiring in for my reverse lights, added the switch and bolted on the lights. Work great. Tore apart my spare wheel to replace the oring and stem. That is next.

    Alternator upgrading

With the diy kit, no, you only need your ground and the hot which should be present. Alternator is clearly labeled as well. Easy wiring.

    Alternator upgrading

Go to gear-report.com and look at the deuce alternator upgrade. We just did a simple 24v upgrade over stock. Nothing fancy, under $150 for new alt, pulley, bolts brackets. Very easy DIY. First time my deuce has charged in almost a year. I was trying to go the wolverine route too, but they have...

    Terrible sound

As long as you have good batteries, turn switch on, let the lift pump run for a minute or so, fuel will push through back to the tank. Bleed the 2nd and 3rd filters as the pump runs to get all air out of those. That should get most of the air out. Then give it a try.

    Top speed

22 in my neighborhood. That was enough.

Anyone gone the Gear Vendor Overdrive route rather than a 4L80 swap ?

INFIDEL...Please pm me with details too. I may go that route after you've had time to run it through and see the pro's and con's.

    HMMWV LED light conversion question.

I just put new led headlights on mine. All lights still work. I've not heard of that issue.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Replaced the rickety throttle pedal assembly on my 998. Started degreasing and cleaning inside tub for liner next week.

Removing rear shims to get the tires to ride vertical? Good idea?

I just finished doing mine this week. I only had one side to do though. It was tilted on the rear driver side. I lucked up being good with removing just the sliding shims, didn't have to remove the shim with holes. It was a pain reaching those nuts on the backside of the frame though. Then I...

Random hmmwv question- why are there velcro strips all over body

I got it on auction out of Alabama. It had been overseas at some point, Europe maybe? About 3-4 inches up from the bottom edges of tub, all the way around vehicle. About 30 of them. I'm going to have to burn them all off. No matter of razor blade or easy pulling gets them off. Just shreds...

Random hmmwv question- why are there velcro strips all over body

Why would there be 4" strips of Velcro all over the body of my m998? Its very frustrating to get those dang strips off. Rant over.

    HHMWV Fuel tank leak

Not sure if yours has this or not, but mine has a cutout inside the cab, beside rear passenger seat with four screws in it, about the size of a bible. Its directly over the access on the fuel tank. If you have this you can at least check those lines coming out and the seal.

Making ole boy a crew cab questions

The first one is where I just got the cab up onto the framerails. The floor support section on either side of the floor hump is where I placed the 1" square tubing to help line it up. You can fit two, 1" square tubes, side by side in each floor channel.

Making ole boy a crew cab questions

I'm doing my right now too. I left the original cab on the frame. Cut the front out of the addition. I then cut out the back of the main cab leaving as much floor and rear floor support as possible. I then put the additional cab up on the frame rails and slid it towards the front cab. I put...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Well not necessarily all today, but since I got her picked up from auction on 12/8/17, replaced fuel pump and batteries and got her running. Replaced the front diff that was toasted. Replaced engine oil and diff oil in both. Replaced all filters. Pressure washed the salty Alabama sand off...

    EUC Finally cleared

Oh man, I cant wait. I paid for mine and sent EUC in 9/13, though there was "update" on 9/18. So I'm hoping for the next week or two! I finally got all my deuce stuff moved out of my garage to make room for it too. Congrats on yours.

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

Great thread. On my list too, after my crew cab. Thanks for the details.

    M35A2 Front bumper Mods

That is EXACTLY what I want to do to mine. I'm pretty tall at 6-6 so I can reach a lot but that is the best design so far for access. Very nice.

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

I have read about "fuses" in larger systems but surely it can be scaled down to brake lines??
