So I poked my head back in the engine compartment. Still jacking around with my blinker issue.....but it looks like the turbo plumbing from the drivers side to the passengers/turbo side is going to be fun.....not.

Got my M1010 running awesome and drove her down the highway with the dang heater door dangling....needless to say.....it’s lost along the highway now......so before I build my own replacement door that drops down into a table so to speak.....anyone have an extra door they want to part...

i went out and double checked a few things. I found one black wire leaving the loom of the same length as the headlight wires but no obvious home. My side marker is working perfectly with an led bulb. The ground wire behind the overflow was nice and tight but took it off and tightened it...
Well I pulled the over flow out, a checked all the wires in the area. Everything checks out. Ugh....I’ll keep poking around and maybe run my own ground wire off various items and see what turns up.

I need some guidance. All of my lights work and turn signals work.....until I turn my headlights on or running lights.
once I do that I have no left turn signals. Green light in dash is dim and the turn bulb itself is glowing dim and constant as well.

I ended up getting mine but for the heater. Left it a low counter to set a top load fridge on it. Need a closet between the front bulkhead and jackknife sofa.

Thanks guys. I replaced the print on the throttle plunger and am slapping her back together this weekend. I am however rebuilding a second one with a rebuild kit to have on hand.

update: the plunger for the throttle definitely had corrosion and the seal around it is definitely hard and brittle.

i ran her with the intake off and the valley filled up with fuel.
i think it’s leaking from the throttle plunger at the base, it’s very clean when nothing else is.
So please give me your thoughts. Install a new IP or reman now, or see if I can repair the...
Mike634, are those return lines? I only ask because I’m a diesel noob and didn’t know if I have a bad injector that maybe has a high return rate. So if it uses those tiny hoses as a return maybe maybe it’s more than a old rubber hose.

thanks Tom. I can see that the lift pump is damp on top but it’s at the front of the motor. I’ll check the frame to pump line as well. I may even drop the starter so I can peer up it and see.

I have sprung a mystery fuel leak. When my 84 1010 runs for over 10m I have a Fuel puddle under the passenger side. it’s leaking for up above and down onto the starter, then dribbles off the front drive shaft.
The fuel filter underside is dry, injectors look dry and nothing is wet...
Skysix great idea having the rear main tank as the primary is an outstanding idea.
I’m Finishing my “kitchen” this weekend in the 1010. I’ll mock everything up next weekend and see how she goes.

Well, I was going along the same thoughts...I have mocked up the passenger side and I think can get the filler just over the horizontal rib but between the wheel well and the cold air intake for the heater and wired “factory” with the switch....I like the idea of making the rear tank a transfer...
