Can't get the engine to idle

I actually just took mine on a 75mile trip after work yesterday. Blast to drive, and surely a head turner. Not sure I can count how many thumbs up I got. We get it though, you don’t like them, you don’t want another, you don’t wanna work on them, you didn’t enjoy driving one. And that’s ok...

    6.5L Turbo Waste Gate Movement

Y’all should check out the new diesel line of valves then. As I mentioned before. They’re finding that a dump valve/“blow off” is helping to extend turbo life on some vehicles. Although, not an issue with what we are talking about.

    6.5L Turbo Waste Gate Movement

Correct for diesels. I guess I should have noted that also. I mentioned the blow off only because it was being described and didn’t want them confused. But yes, you’re correct that Diesel engines do not need a “blow off”. Now if you want to get technical, haha, some of these new vehicle Diesel...

    6.5L Turbo Waste Gate Movement

A wastegate is used to limit boost pressure by relieving exhaust pressure from its turbine so it won’t spin any faster; a blow off valve is used to relive the boost pressure when you let off the throttle.

Anyone Swapped This 6 Speed 4L80e

If I had the budget, I would do larger tires AND that transmission swap. Why? Well, we all know big tires can lug you down and rob “power” but gain higher top speed. So why not swap in that trans, and the larger tires. The closer gears(ratios) will help combat the large tires for city driving...

Engine repair or swap to LDS?

Per the TM, cracks are NORMAL in that area, as long as they don’t crack past or actually into the valve seats.

Yeah same here. I have a guy that does all that stuff also; but he wants a file, not a picture. He would use the picture, but would charge me extra to “map” it out

    6 cracked piston

Technically yes. If you can hunt down a dial bore gauge, you can check the bore/sleeves for wear. Then you’ll know if they are worn and should be replaced.
