    It is Home my M816

Mike delivered mine too. I didn't think he would ever deliver another M816 after mine broke his trailer. Did you get lots of goodies with it?

    Need new Air Tanks

Memphis Equipment has NOS tanks. We just replaced ours. Be aware, there are different tanks used on different trucks. We had to do a bit of plumbing.

    Another runaway

I was trying to use the hand throttle the first time it happened and it happened exactly as you described. However, the next time, I had not touched the hand throttle. Could that still be the cause? If so, what is the cure?

    Another runaway

I read about yours when it happened. I just am not having luck figuring out what is causing mine, but I don't know much about the Cummings motor. I've been told that it could be the IP of the injectors, but neither are easy to check. It seems to me that it is pooling oil in the intake...

    Another runaway

I checked the linkage and it seems ok. How could you tell that you had fuel in your oil?

    Another runaway

It was a true runaway. I don't know what the rpm's got to but it was screaming. It also belched a lot of black smoke. Actually, it didn't go back to idle because I had pulled the emergency shut off. It just died. But then, after resetting the emergency shut off, it started right up and...

    Another runaway

The oil level has been high in my M816 since I got it. After my first runaway, I decided I had better get rid of the excess oil. I drained out two and a half GALLONS. It is now at mid range on the stick. The oil that came out looked fine, no water or anything else that I could seel Well...

    New Paint

The Gillespie spray cans work great too. They will make you throw rocks at Krylon or some of the other major brands. The advantage to the spray cans is that you can do a small part at a time without having to prep and shoot the whole truck at once. I've done six vehicles with spray cans and...

    Lots of black smoke

If it had too much oil in the crankcase, could that cause it?

    Lots of black smoke

I have a M816 that blows out a lot of black smoke even at idle. Am I getting some oil from somewhere or is it just running that rich? It runs great and is very responsive. However, I have had some problem with it not wanting to idle back down, after being reved, when it's cold.

5-ton loose steering, swims a bit on highway

Yes, the 800 series trucks have an adjustment on the stearing gear similiar to the one on your old Ford. There is a procedure for adjusting it in the TM.

    Adjustable landing gear?

There is a M105 in the classifieds for $100.

    m816 at work

I just pulled my first 18 wheeler out of the mud. I didn't think it would be that hard to pull out, so I just hooked a chain to it and tried to drive out with it. I was dissapointed when I couldn't budge it. Plan B: I pulled up and rolled out the cable from the rear winch. It pulled it...

Advice on picking "Motors in the Can"...

The ones we had were newly rebuild. They had the clutch, fan, new belts, and the papers where they had been tested on a dyno.
