I laid out my tire chains tonight and found that all three of them were either missing a link of had a link loose on one end. The chains are put together with what looks like a big rivet, bent into a "J". I had a couple of extra rivets and an extra link. So, I wondered if there was a way to...
I've read the TM's but I may not have read the latest revision. Can anyone tell me what the "V" shaped rod attached to the side of the whiffle tree is used for?
I got one from Memphis Equipment. They first said that they didn't have any because they took all the heaters off their trucks and replaced them with civy heaters. So, I asked what they did with all the ones they took off. After a pause, he took my number and said that he would call me back...
You might try "Nutcerts". They go in like a pop-rivet and have a nut on the back side. I've had mixed luck with them. If everything lines up good, they work good. If anything is a little off, they don't work at all.
I drive both but they are really hard to compare. The deuce weighs around 13,000 and my 5 ton weighs around 35,000. The remarkable thing is that the wrecker (5 ton, m816) is just as fast on acceleration and top speed as the deuce. It might not get as good a milage, but it will certainly do a...
The more you fool with them, the more they leak. I've replaced two after trying to stop the leaks. One was definately broken, came out in two pieces. The other was probably cracked. Memphis Equipment sells them. Seems like they ran about $50 each with shipping.
I just put a new end on a 3/4" cable and I don't believe I could have gotten it on a 13/16" one. Is it the correct cable otherwise? Is it steel core with the correct number of wires on it?
I just fixed a leak where the fuel line goes into the tank and it did seem to do a lot better, now that I think about it. I just never put the two together. Thanks. Made my whole day!
" when you throttle the engine up it should drop rpms quickly when you lift off the throttle if not its pulling air into the fuel. "
That's exactly what my M816 has been doing. What causes it?
Jim
So far we only have the primary fuel filter. It is very well made, goes on in just a few minutes, and makes changing a breeze. We plan to add all of them at the next oil change.
Yes, they are 11.00's. Very observant. The truck belongs to Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 920. It was a great buy. The odometer only said 12,000 miles when we got it and the more I work on it, the more I believe that to be the origional milage. It drives like a new one and there is...
