Won a brush guard on gov planet, got her installed, bolts with lock nuts on bottom and clevis pins on top with hairpin clips, quick pins would have been nice but $40-$60 a pair vs 10 clevis pins for $12.50. Now do I leave it green or I'm thinking of painting it flat black or possibly paint it to...
Recovery in Miami
I'm near Miami but don't have anywhere to store it. Not running... so probably your best bet is a tow company as Bikeman suggested.
If it was just put a set of batteries in and drive off I could do that for you.
Drove in a Christmas Parade, I was driving a 5 ton and my son was driving my HMMWV in his first parade, so proud. PS...No parade goers were harmed.
Guess I've been slacking off, just found a couple events I skipped posting.
Along with Knights of Columbus and Project 425 we delivered 116 bikes to less fortunate children and their families in the local area.
Duce and 5 ton were provided by Project 425, both trucks were full of bikes, I...
Check your parking brake also as it uses the same fail safe horn. Is your low air pressure light on ? Is the parking brake light on ? There is a micro switch under the parking brake lever that went bad on my truck. There is a very good trouble shooting tree in the TM. My truck is an M923A2.
Went to a Pearl Harbor remembrance day, had 3 WW2 Vets there who were at Pearl Harbor on the day.
There were 12 MV's there, I know my Humvee is not time period appropriate but it's the thought that counts.
Also gave her a fresh rattle can paint job... I plan on giving her a real paint job soon.
Did a little body work today, she had a slightly damaged right front fender when I got her, only ding on her, so today I fixed her up. Before and after pics.
Little Rapco rattle can paint to finish her off, I'll sand out that small run and touch it up later.
For now I've slipped some wire loom over the cables, no sharp edges just concerned about vibration wearing into cables this will work until I can get a better solution.
Installed a battery cut off switch. Copied location idea from fellow member, worked out pretty good. Built the cables from some 1/0 welding cable I had left over from another project and soldered on the lugs.
Just need to put some protection on cables going into battery box so they don't chafe.
OD I will be coming up for the parade, I think I confirmed before but just in case...
I will plan on the HMMWV this year unless you need my M923. My friend Alice will be joining also like last year. If I had a driver I would bring both.
