    Some Rapco spray paint pointers

I just used a Rapco rattle can I bought from Quarter ton military and it matched color very good. No spray issues, shook for just over 1 min and shook intermittently while spraying. Both the 383 green and 383 brown worked great. Also both Rapco cans I opened came with 2 spray nozzles. I was very...

Torque chart needed - HUMVEE 998

Or you can look in the TM for the exact numbers, I have found every torque value I've needed for both my 5 ton and HMMWV, just takes a while and you find other gold nuggets along the way.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Wow really looks great. Nice to have a high lift jack and store it out of the way.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Yes, that is correct. My 4 up front boots are done now, next week I'll do the rear. The OTC 8150 worked great, popped tie rod ends out no problem, I recommend threading the tie rod nut back on about 3/4 to provide a retaining point for the tip of puller, its an extra step but it helps keep the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Changed 2 more tie rod boots today and installed Centramatic wheel balancer's on front wheels. Will do last 2 dust boots and rear Centramatic's next week. 2 events scheduled this weekend so wont have time. Checked both differentials and transfer case fluids while I was under her today, good...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Tie Rod dust boots? I unsuccessfully tried to ask / find about the spec on these, where did you get them? I ended up with the whole rod. I just took my HF caliper and crawled under my HMMWV and pried up 1 of the boots and measured the tie rod base and shaft. I went with the Energy Suspension...

    Humvee pitman arm removal tool

I see 2 listed on Amazon, which one did you use ? The 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" or maybe a part number ? I need to pull my pitman arm and I'm away from my HMMWV right now or I would go measure it. Thanks

Humvee audio systems: What have you added / done to your rig ?

This was my answer to easy sound in my HMMWV. Bluetooth speaker mounted to a 50 cal can. I added a power outlet to charge my phone and the speaker with a cigarette lighter port for my GPS, installed a false bottom to protect the electronics, use the upper portion on 50 cal can for light storage...

    New from Texas

Welcome from South Florida. Some say hobby, some say addition, I say fun. Getting to know these vehicles, in my opinion, is fun, a few bumps and bruises, a little blood shed and you are one with the machine. Not to mention they're good conversation starters, pull in anywhere, there will be...

    MTR vs MT tire mixing

Thanks for the reply’s, should have mentioned my MT’s are load range D and the MTR’s are load range D. What simp said makes sense, guess it’ll be fine keeping an MT as a spare, just to get to a tire shop, if the road demons claim another tire. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    MTR vs MT tire mixing

I'm putting a new set of MTR tires on my HMMWV, I noticed on the side wall of the MTR's it says not to mix with MT tires, anyone know why ? I always heard not to mix bias ply and radial ply tires but the MT's and MTR's are both radials. I am planning to keep my best MT tire as a spare and put my...
