When I changed over to a remote reservoir style m/c I had a difficult time bleeding it also. I lost track of how many times I bled it and still had a spongy pedal. I think I was getting some air trapped at the top of the master cylinder because the remote reservoir lines had to snake down...
Thanks for posting this! I had been looking for some replacement screens last year and couldnt find any other than some that were on ebay for $100 ea. I just bought 6 of them from Sportsmans Guide after seeing this post. I took advantage of their free buyers club trial and was able to get all...
I think the only noticeable difference with the adapters I made is that mine had 6 notches evenly spaced on the outer edge like you can see in the below picture. They are only there to help with fixturing when being milled. The first 40 adapters I made didn't have these but they had alignment...
If it's a 1969 it should only have a single master cylinder unless someone retrofitted it. Take a peek under the master cylinder inspection door on the floor in front of your drivers seat.
Sorry for the late reply but yeah the wheel halves were just not aligned very well when assembled. You will find that the dish half of the wheel has smaller (tighter) holes and the holes in the outer front ring are slightly oversized. I'd let the air out of those 2 wheels then loosen the 12...
Well if you have everything hooked up again then you just need to bleed the brakes and check for leaks. The TM has good instructions for it or do a search on here. Check out the power bleeder "sticky" here: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?3229-Deuce-Power-Bleeder-R4x4-Style

I got brake shoes from Boyce a while back and they didn't even want my cores, they said they had so many. So if that is keeping you from getting them then call and ask them first. And yes the brakes are the same for all those trucks. The 87-89 trucks have a different brake system, and the 93&...
:), Actually, it was sort of a last minute decision to quit making the adapter plates (at least for now). Sales have dropped off significantly since I think most people who wanted them already got them. The market for Deuces and deuce accessories in general has taken quite a dive in the recent...
Wow, awesome Job! I like the Bumper, counter cabinets, all of it! What is that rectangular thing on the right side of the flip out storage area under the counter top?
That box looks like it belongs on the 5 ton truck, very well done.
yes, I traded some items for a new 18" steering wheel from the a3 trucks. It is more comfy since it's got some cushion to the wheel. It does give you an extra inch of belly room also which isn't much but every bit helps in the deuce. My truck came with air assist steering and I've never driven...
I did have to trim the fenders a touch see this post (Post 32) http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?108671-PEASHOOTER-s-M109A3-CAMPER-Build-Thread&p=1376671&viewfull=1#post1376671
maybe some more info in this thread too...
A couple more pics I had. First are of the camper parked at a family Bible camp we took it to this past weekend:
These are of the rock parking pad area I finished up the other day. We try to hide the truck/trailer on the side of the garage as best as possible.
Here are some more pictures of revised supports that hold up the deck/platform between the truck and trailer (deck folds down so we dont need to unhook the trailer from the truck). Platform idea courtesy of Lowtech.
Previously the support arms were attached to the deck and could flop around...
You have done a great job. I believe I'll be borrowing the idea for the braided stainless hose coming off the air compressor that you and Rustystud have done!
Thanks for the kind words Ahab, but I can safely say there are only a couple areas on the deuce that I know a lot about..... Most other...
I forgot to mention earlier that I remember someone's thread from a year or 2 ago about a member getting new injector lines and finding out that several of them had obstructions within the brand new lines. So make sure to check them before mounting them.
EDIT:
Here is the post...
That all looks fantastic! I've never seen that type of differential breather kit before, cool. I also love those braded hoses under the hood.... Very well done!
Here are a few pics of the projects I did this summer to the deuce.... really didnt do too much. The seats were by far the biggest project since I ended up reupholstering them myself. I started that sometime last year and just finished recently!
Anyway, it took some trial and error to get...
