The parts arent really that rare at all, whats rare is a the combination of parts specific to the M35A3 master cylinder. There are around 40 variations of this master cylinder, some are really common but the combination of the 1.75" bore, 50/50 split primary & secondary pistons, and remote...
Well, they appear not to be in stock. Here is the link though that has the various part numbers for the valve cover gaskets. Try calling a few of the dealers and or checking their website to see if they have any. Eriks, Boyce Equipment, White Owl, ebay, Saturn Surplus, Eastern Surplus...
Well life has been busy lately. I took a new job a few months back and we did/are trying to do a lot of camping as our kids are at a good age for it. I haven't done too much to the deuce this year but I did do enough that I'll hopefully get some pictures for a few posts soon. Got the seats done...
You can check out my 109 build for more ideas. 80% of the pictures are on the first 4-5 pages and the rest are scattered throughout the remaining pages (some of my favorite later add ons pick up around page 16...
The wheels in that picture are 5 ton wheels that have too small of a center hole to allow them to fit a deuce. In order to make them fit you need to modify the wheel AND use a smaller welded on adapter or a larger bolt on adapter. Unfortunately even if those wheels were free, it would probably...
Here are some options for longer wheel studs (about 3/8" longer) with all other dimensions being the same:
Left Hand:
WA07-5141
BWP® M-2437
DAYTON®13-1204L
EUCLID E-5910L
MERITOR®20X345
Right Hand:
WA07-5173
BWP® M-2436
DAYTON®13-1204R
EUCLID® E-5910R
MERITOR®20X344
You Can get longer wheel studs, but just a little heads up that studs are pricey ($4-9 each) and you almost always need to buy them in packs of 25 (25 right, 25 left). If you buy them individually they will almost certain by at the $7-9/ea price.
Well assuming the tubing and flare tools aren't the problem, the only other thing that I could think of might be how you deburr the inside and outside of the tube where you cut it. Make sure it's even, maybe try one flare with more deburring and one with less. If that doesn't work call up fed...
What brand cunifer line are you using? I've only had consistently good luck with brakequip "ezi-bend" and fed hill, I believe all other lines in the shrink wrapped coil packages are made by the same mill with different labeling. They tend to be thinner wall harder copper so they don't bend as...
I had an issue with the trans popping out of 5th gear but it was a worn syncro that could be visibly seen with the top cover off. The syncro's teeth had gone from a square shape to a triangular shape so when under a load it would slide the syncro off 5th... this doesnt appear to be your issue...
Ha, thanks for the compliments but I'm too frugal to buy a lottery ticket;) I also just changed jobs so I lost access to a lot of the fun machine shop equipment I had enjoyed for the last 8 years. Many of the ideas on this thread aren't mine but from other members who I copied. Like you, I did...
I got this same one and am happy with it. Its a 1:58 and worked fantastic to break some nuts loose that I couldnt get with the stock lug wrench and a cheater bar. I think it was around $60 shipped off ebay.
Check this first post for inexpensive DOT 5

This area shown in the picture has about the same amount of clearance as the stock NDT tires..... its just some of the other clearances that get questionable:)
For what its worth, As of a year ago John at TNJ Murray was selling the Asian made Hydraulic Heads for $300 shipped.... its not a listed/advertised price obviously but many of us have bought one from him for that price or close to it (he didn't always do the free shipping part). If you do need...
I thought I read somewhere on here last year that wd40 isn't flammable anymore and therefore of no use for a starting fluid? I havent tried lighting the stuff since I was a kid though so I don't know if this is true or not.
Here's a link to some limited info and pictures on installing an eaton 6406 6spd into a deuce: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?119554-A3-transmission-replacement-questions&p=1497566&viewfull=1#post1497566
(this was done to an M35a3 truck however)
I like the thought of aluminum wheels better and would pick them myself if I had the choice when I got mine (I have the 12 bolt steel ones). It seems like the first couple years all the MRAP wheels selling at GL auctions were of the steel variety, but the last year or so its been mainly Aluminum...
