Many times the military units will swap out tires on trucks that are being deployed, even it it is just to the NTC. All 'new' rubber is better than a flat in their way of thinking. "But sarge, we just changed that tire last month" "Shut up and put a new one on, troop".
Years ago I got custom length fiberglass slats from Stefan Wood Products. Used to make short side seats for the back of my M-36 (behind where the S-280 sat), and as uprights for the bows so we could put a screen over the S-280. Screen was strictly for being parked, made from an old cargo...
Main reason I found this is that guyfang, mullaney and I are working on database of the TM's, both on SS and in our private collections to expand what is available to the group AND provide a search engine to help locate the 'right' manual for each undertaking. We are currently being hampered...
An extra 1.5 inches would explain why it does not fit! The deuce and the 800 series share the same general cab dimensions (the 900 series are over a foot wider), so maybe your cab cover is actually for the 800 series 5 ton's. I really don't know.
If it helps, I just measured from the bottom of the seam that separates the top from the back of a vinyl cab cover to the bottom of the loop. That measurement was 25 inches. That cab cover was taken off of a deuce because it needs to have the stitching redone on the rear window (and I'm...
The 24 valve in the heavy duty package will develop over 300 HP, BUT the electronics are proprietary to Dodge-RAM, which makes it VERY Expensive to change around.
Ranger Qualified is the best path for promotion of Army Officers currently. Even if their primary specialty will never get them close to a battlefield. Just another ticket to punch.
The deuce M36's have a 17 foot bed, the long bed five tons have a 20 foot long bed, the 814 model. Member EMD367 owns one, it's nickname is "The Long Easy". He also has to wear two watches when traveling as the front and back of the truck are in different time zones. I have an M36 with an...
Put a larger sacrificial tarp over it to keep the sun and rain from getting to it. I generally keep my cargo covers in a container unless using them, and have almost finished converting my fleet to hard top cabs. I have a tan cargo cover that was on for a year, where it has been exposed to the...
Do NOT leave canvas/vinyl tops on 24/7/365. They will deteriorate if in the sun or exposed to extremes of weather. If you can park in a garage, away from the blazing sun, the pouring rain and the howling winds, you can get decades of use. Exposed to the elements it will be two years to show...
Correct, the only 'power' is the radio signal that you will be transmitting through the coax. The other cable did transmit power to the stepper motor to change the SWR for different frequency ranges in the 30-75 MHz range. You will not be doing that, because the frequency range that you will...
The base has the antenna coax straight from the radio - the SWR meter goes in that line. The other cable is strictly for changing the frequency range from the radio itself, but that can also be done with the base itself, mechanically. Once set for the lowest SWR, you simply leave it alone, and...
First one, the four small pins are the ground wires, four big ones are the three phases and the neutral. I have a cable like that without the connectors. Main wires were 1 ga, four smaller ground wires were each 8 ga. YMMV.
