Finally got my 90* bend from my father-in-law (pipefitter). It's schedule 40 stainless, and I got it for a grand total of $7.50
Man, that was a headache! I had to grind out the hole in the fender a bit larger for the bigger pipe, then I had to cut some relief cuts in the end of the pipe so it...
Well, some of you may remember, I had a gasket blowout on the base of my filters almost a month ago, and I was finally able to track down a canister bolt after one of mine broke while re-torquing.
AlphaDeltaRomeo, you are officially added to my "heros" list. Since there wasn't a postage...
I love how people talk about towing with the 2 1/2 and 5 ton trucks and act as if 30K is "not much" to tow! rofl
Kinda makes me snicker when I think about the towing arguments at the F-150 forum I used to frequent.
This is exactly what I want to do. Where did you get the 24V relays? Are they waterproof/resistant? I've had a heck of a time tracking them down! What about a brake controller?
Thanks! Looks good!
Got mine coming from some extra pipe from my father-in-law's workplace (pipefitter)... About $15 for some extra stainless in a 90* mandrel bend, plus the 24" section he's got from his exhaust on his Duramax. I'll get pics as soon as I get it on there, but it should be just below the top of the...
Re: RE: Re: RE: Emergency! Part needed
She had 22 quarts, so 5 1/2 gallons... the oil line following puking her guts was right above the "Add" line. Also, the 4 gal. is just an estimate. All I know is it looked like the black death of my multi.
Yeah, I've gotten the bottom part out without any trouble, thankfully. Doesn't seem like the engine suffered any damage; I was able to shut it down before the oil drained completely.
Clinto:
Nope, mine actually sheared along the threads. This is really the side-effect of problem with the gaskets from Wix. They wouldn't seal properly, and I think Pvt. Fixer may have once over-tightened the bolts and stretched it to it's breaking point prior to my oil change.
Does anyone have the bolt that holds down the oil filter canister? Mine sheared off today and I lost about 4 gallons of oil on the way home. I had to get my wife to come pull me home with a chain! Of course no where around here has the bolt, so can anyone point me in the right direction?
Do any of you use a winch weight?
I know in "lighter" off-roading circles, it is common practice to use a winch weight of some type (weather a crude sack with some rocks held on the cable to an actual marketed "winch weight"). Does anyone use one of some type or another? I'd imagine it'd have...
This is how I have mine, and it's the way I've always seen it done :driver:
Doesn't mean it's correct, though, as evidenced by my S/N and star locations.
