Get a title from International Titles.
They will assign it a VIN, from whatever state they use, and you use the title which is signed over to you to register it.
NY wants a VIN, and there is no title for Light trailers in NY, so you need to get a title from another state to make the process...
Buy a new wire lead from saturn surplus. And a new style horn button kit.
Then with some tape or a crimp connection, attach a safety wire to the old lead, pull it through the bottom of the steering box and replace the old lead with the new one and pull it back through. The bottom has a water...
So here is the question that I can't grasp...
Is the 60 amp Alternator now used in place of the 25 amp generator and regulator setup?
Mine has the alternator, and i bought a 2nd, for a spare. I have no regulator that I knwo of on my truck, and I assume it will be a simple swap out when the the...
Sounds like a good trip, and you got a real nice truck. Just out of curiosity, was the truck and lube trailer one lot, or did you bid seperately?
Also, what kind of price did you have to pay for them?
MudStone,
I'm just across the water from you. Anyway, I saw your question and wanted to let you know I bought my truck from a guy in NJ. He was fair and reasonable, and best of all it was cash and carry. I did have to wait about 6 weeks though to get a title from International Titles, but it...
Get the definition from the local municipality's book.
In my area, every plate other than a Passenger or Historical/ Antique plate fall under the category of commercial motor vehicle. That includes trailers.
So my duece is historical plated, and has been parked in the front of my house since...
I am new to the duece. I have owned mine since Sept 2008, and been working on it with a lot of help from No. 2 Diesel.
I thought it would be more of a chore to maintain and use, but I am pleasantly suprised.
It needs PM like all other vehicles, and if you do like me and change all the filters to...
Interesting you mentioned this.
My duece came with two springer seats. The unit that had it must have got tired with the bench so they swaped it out. It is such a pleasure to drive the duece and carry things in it. It makes it much easier to move around in the cab too.
I spent a few months...
I didn't have a whole lot of room either, but my decision was based on the price and availability.
How many Willy's Jeeps are around now?
I look at the duece as a modern day large military jeep.
One day they will be a tough commodity. Plus spare parts, New old stock military surplus is...
My glass frame was totally rusted out. I bought brand new glass with frame lock, and weather stripping from OD Iron. It just went right in, and needed no adjustment.
I think the reason they aren't staying in is because you have the cab bows in backwards. The part of the bow with the flange on it is supposed to be on the rear brace, and then the bow slightly dipps forward to allow the rain water and other weather related debris to drip forward.
My 11.00R20 spare has the same sidewall, and when I bought my trailer it came with 6.50R16's that were very narrow and also had the sidewall waves. I though the trailer's tires were bad so I got rid of them.
Then I bought the duece, and found out that the tire is manufactured this way.
It appears that the Canadians used some kind of number plate which is the same type of plate used by civilians, so my plate just went right on the back of the tub, where the mounting spot was from the factory.
However, I found that Trucklite makes a nice steel powder coated plate holder that I...
