Back about 10 years ago when fuel was 4.75 a gallon I ran B100 everyday for about a year. With no failures. Bio is a great solvent. There is a good chance it cleaned your injectors. Giving you the better mileage. There are less BTU's per gallon than Dino Diesel. This results in less power and...
Like Kenny mine too is pretty reliable. It used to be my daily driver. But now spends it's time being a workhorse. It hauls and or tows whatever needs to be moved around here. It gave me trouble when I first got it. But that was from neglect from the previous owner. I've had it 13 years now...
I have a 82 GMC K2500 with a 6.2 SM465 and 3.42 gears. I installed a banks kit on it in 1999. I have replaced the engine. Not from the banks but because I over sped the engine. This truck isn't a daily driver anymore but I do use it to tow my tractor. I have towed a 7000 pound RV with dirt...
I'm liking this idea myself. Did they use the stock 14bolt? I had a C30 stake bed truck a few years back the had a shorter 14bolt. The outside duals were as wide as the cab. I wonder if this would work with out cutting the body.
What elevation is this pass at? What grade? it might be starving for air. If a turbo isn't a option then maybe a early 90's single plane intake, air cleaner and a ram air snorkel will help.
If you ever want to check for one. Just lock one hub only and then try to turn the front driveshaft by hand. If it rotates, then it's a open diff. If the hub locks and the shaft won't turn then it's a L/S diff.
Borg-Warner bought out Schwitzer a few years ago. I used to work for a turbocharger company and I overhauled 17 turbos for members on this site. The parts were not uncommon. Try searching through Borg-Warner.
I'd have to pull the cover off the top so you can see, but the cores are as wide as the tanks. The only time the fan clutch engages is when i'm in the woods hauling firewood. It cycles off pretty quickly.
I installed a aftermarket rad that is twice the size as the original (cores). The Tanks are bigger too. I got it at a local Rad shop in Houston. It's all aluminum. Tanks and cores. I also swapped the 5 blade fan for a 20 inch 6 blade. I'm running a 180 deg Robert Shaw thermostat. Temps here in...
I've tried boost in the 20"s. 22 to be exact. Your head gaskets wont be thrilled with the idea. You will need to use 18 to 1 aftermarket pistons. I've had better luck with removing/reducing flow restrictions for adding power. Then you can increase the fuel rate while removing the heat out the...
Gripy, I have aM1028A1. The NP205 transfer case shifter looks like it's far enough to the passenger side that I can mount a rack there. I use the stock mounts behind the seat. But they are not easy to get to Coyotes are usually gone by the time you stop, get out, fumble with the seatbelt and...
The pic isn't my truck. But I think I'll pull the rubber floor cover back and see it mine has one. If so I can find a radio mic mount that goes on the dash I think I'll try to make one work.
I was hoping it was usable along with the radio mount that goes on the dash. It would be a lot easier than having to get out and move the seat to get to it.
