The excuse im going with is-- we had to fill the bed with parts cause we needed weight for traction. yea thats it we had to for safety reasons.
maybe we can snag another dumb a** snowmobiler on the way!!
Speaking of snow, does this thing have a heater?
oh boy how soon we forget.
Does it run?
if so grab some ins and drive it.
let me know when it is released and i may be able to wheel for you. Its slowing down a little at work rite now so i may be able to slide out for a day.
I think it was about this time of year when the M820 came home in a snow storm! what do ya...
Might want to start with the easy checks first. loose connetions at batterys, frame ground, starter ground, starter hot lead, starter solenoid energiser wire.
Chris, did the batt gauge move when you hit the start switch?
any clicking? cranetruck (Bjorn) did an article on the control boxs i think.
I got a new one off ebay for a spare and it looks like the XM819 is going to need it soon! if you have to use or move it, call me and we can walk...
I should have been more clear, I didnt meen to use anti seize for electrical connections. I know i kind of got off topic but its something that has saved me a lot of work. it is also something that i store with the dielectric grease so i can find it. maybe.
sorry for the confusion.
did not get a pic as we started. the FL120 would not even start up the ramps. we hooked the XM819 to the front of it and picked it up high enough for the trailer to back under. then moved a little, picked the rear up and backed the trailer under the rest of the way. steering it with the crowd.
Dielectric grease and anti sieze. I have used them both for over 30 years with great results. both products are not really cheap but worth every cent.
I only wish the assemblers would use the stuff more.
The FL120 didnt want to roll on the trailer without shoving the trailer and pick up around.
so we gave it a lift and a shove of our own.
And we managed to punch a hole in the deck.
to determine what would work for you, first you would have to know what your intended wieght on the rear would be. including any bed, deck or load. unless you go air then it really does not matter. (within reason)
the lenth of the drive shaft for a truck no longer than that one would be easy. look at some of the civi straight trucks with 28' boxs on them. or the 300" wheel base large cars.
I think the harder part would be what to use for a suspension and getting it together straight.
Chuck,
you are correct about the front being high when towed by the M818 even my M127's are a little high in the front.
the M119 and the M146 are quite different from each other as the M119 has a full frame and that makes clearance issues between the trl frame and the rear of the tractor...
I have pulled mine with my M818. they look a little funny cause the front sits pretty high hooked to the M818.
if the landing gear has real big pads attached, you may need to pull them for clearence with the rear drive. the frames are close but unless you are doing some real off roading it will...
