Problem with that is the vacuum pump is pulling about 20" of vacuum and the modulator should only be seeing about 8". It is very possible you could have damaged the modulator going direct. Also, the vacuum switch regulates a variable signal to the modulator. Directly from the pump, there is no...
When I did my DD starter to GR starter (and moved to 12v), I had to trim off the tab on the red wire that connects to the starter. It is in the wrong location and would be very close to the soleniod before I even got it tightened down. My guess is this tab is hitting the soleniod power and...
I agree with Warthog, if you don't have a vacuum gauge to verify what you are getting at the trans modulator, you will be chasing your tail. Test gauges are cheap, buy one and check.
Mine was a combo of bad vacuum lines and modulator. After replacing the lines and it not working, I checked...
Hi and welcome to the M1010 club!
Interesting problem. I am wondering if something is bleeding power back into the system via the DUVAC or TWINPUT. There could be a capacitor that is staying energized until it bleeds off its charge and then shuts down the power.
There is a wire that...
No idea what you paid but on Summit's site they are $239.99 for Warn Premiums. If you are getting those for less then $90, I want to know as I am going to start a new business. :p About the cheapest I can find is $195.
Are you sure you are talking hubs for a DANA 60 axle. M1009's don't use...
Hey guys,
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Summit Racing has Mile Marker Surpreme hubs on a killer special. Normally $165.95, on sale $89.50. This is for a DANA 60 axle.
I just happened across them and looks like a great deal if you are thinking of replacing the stock one. Just...
Opps, I was talking about the transfer shift bezal, since I referenced that needing a light. I'll look for those screws again. Must have missed them the first time. Mine is broken off on the upper pass. side corner so I'll be hitting the junk yards.
Thanks!!! You just saved me a bunch of time and hassle. I was thinking the light was burnt out and the two wires were for the light, not the transfer case switch. Guess I'll add a light.
BTW, how did you get the bezal off? I can't seem to figure out how it's attached.
Are you checking the fluid after it's hot? Let the engine warm up is not warming up the trans. My Cherokee has a trans temp gauge and it take a good 20-30 mintues of stop and go driving to get it up to temp. If the fluid level is fine at operating temps, then it could be that the passages in...
AMMCO = Bend over and Smile! :p
Run as far away as you can from them! Drop the pan, change the filter, fill up with clean, new fluid. Make sure there are not any leaks and dropping the fluid too low or a clogged filter.
Well built replacement TH400 can be had all day long for $900-$1400.
I would think the Banks would be the best of the three. My buddy has the ATS and is not overly impressed with it. No idea on the GM 6.5 turbo but I have read they are not a great fit for rigs that had the 6.2 engines. Something about clearance issues. I just picked up a complete Banks kit...
As for the GR bracket, I actually called a local Chevy dealer and they had one in stock. You might try starting with your local dealer. All I did was to have them check stock on that part number. Never even gave them a discription, just the number.
I have been going through systems and getting them up to snuff. Today was an oil and filter change. Drained the coolant (very old) and removed all the cooling hoses. Flushed the block, radiator and heater core. Also swapped in my new starter bolts. Tomorrow will put all the hoses on and...
Funny you should ask, as I had the same question when I called and talk to the guy (Rich). A single rectifier has 6 diodes and a dual has 12 diodes. On larger output alts, dual is better as it puts less current thru each individual diode as it splits the load over 12 versus 6. Made sense to...
Okay, thanks for the info. I was afraid GM did something like that. I had found the AC Delco number and was just hoping I found another (and possibly better) solution. AC's it is.
