Well the bearing is on its way, the fly wheel has been re-surfaced ( 50$ and barely fit by like a half inch on the shops machine) , and i should start putting it back together this weekend. The new clutch ass'y will go in tomorrow, and ill repack the front bearings on sunday, while waiting for...
i dunno bout everyone here....but i served 8 yrs army active duty as a truck driver....it was my 100% of the time job...i was not a cook or a supply guy who happened to be in charge of the platoons deuce for weekly maintenance....i was a full hard chargin' dedicated truck driver. we had deuces...
...I beleive these certain people are refferred to as : USN/USAF/USMC/USA fighter/helicopter pilots.
no one driving a vehicle should need to have to multi task on multiple levels other then to operate the euipment....if anything more is needed, then have a TC ;)
lol @ #2 that just tells me that you have never owned or operated a vehicle with an air system....but welcome to the party! Please do read the manuals and learn as much as you can...these trucks are not toys and can do alot of damage is misused or mistreated. That being said..congrats on...
i would suggest that if you do find someone who can bust that split rim for you, ask him to show you how its done. Its a good skill to know so you can do it at home. Just remember the key word though SAFETY! split rims can be dangerous. Invest in a pick/mattocks, a couple good tire spoons, and a...
yah that sounds about right....did the same on my M928 that was assigned to me in AK....the few trucks we sent to the IMF (installation maint. facility) to get painted came back with some of the worst paint jobs i ever saw...i mean they were civilian contractors but come on! they didnt tape...
shake and spray! rattle cans should do it....sand any rust and primer it, but other then that, unless you want a high gloss shine, camo paint in rattle cans are bout the cheapest/easiest route i know of... my 2cents fat lady sings
..i just bought an entire gasket set for my tranny, does yours have that big gasket for that aluminum ring that goes on that the tranny bolts up to?
in the TM its called a transmission adaptor gasket, its about the same diameter as the flywheel...pretty big gasket, and it didnt come with my...
When i removed my Fly Wheel the other day to get it resurfaced, i noticed there was a gasket between the trans adaptor and the back of the motor. It came apart in many peices and couldnt be saved. I dont know if i just have no idea where to look for stuff or they arent anywhere to be found. My...
I disassembled my transmission, cleaned it out, and cleaned the outside, the bellhousing, and then reassembled it as far as i could without a new input shaft bearing. Then i took off both front tires and pulled the hubs to inspect and repack the bearings while the trucks immobilized in the...
So what ive gathered from this thread is that GAA is lithium, not compatible with Moly, its expensive, and its everone's preference. Is it really that much BETTER then civi market grease like Lucas oil products? I was an 88m in the army for 8 yrs and used GAA ALOT and i was always under the...
haha i remember that...they still use something similar in the military. When i was in the army, blackout training sucked...AN/PVS-7B's suck for driving
... I hope you didnt take my post as a dig at what you said...wasnt meant to be. I knew you meant flat towing. Ive talked face to face with Titanium and was just putting up that pic so he could see what i told him about.
Well as i told you the other day Titanium, if you were to tow it with your pickup, you'd def need the proper set up and trailer...like this one below. Thats how we got mine home, 100+ miles from barstow to Tehachapi. I wouldnt recommend it...was my only option, and my 2 buddys and I are (were)...
