M88's have got to be my favorite piece of heavy metal....that isnt a rolling cannon anyway lol...That big ass diesel engine sounds soooo cooool and when they drive by you know its an 88 by the way the earth shakes :)
....the roar they make always reminded me of a deuce on steroids
When i get my External hard drive up and running, ill post some of my OIF pics from OIF 1,2, and 3 along with Rotation 06-08....gun truck'in and Transport'in
..I thought of this. I know what you mean by all sorts and styles, when i went to iraq the first time, i saw, and gunned in many different types...mostly hillbilly armored pickup body HMMWV's or 939 series 5 tons. My company was the first transportation company to get 3 actual manufactured...
This is gonna be Era-accurate as best i can with all the pics ive found from the period. Im gonna try to use only what they had back then and kinda make my own configuration since there were no set plans for gun trucks back then and crews just kinda made their own set ups.
As for the...
Soooo...i know its been ages since i was here last...and ages since ive been able to cruise the deuce around, but here i am! I have given it alot of thought, careful consideration, and some research and planning, and have come to the conclusion that I want to turn my M109a3 into a replica...
what unit in the 172nd? if it was from the support Bn, was it Delta company? that was a sister company of ours...i was stationed in Ft. Wainwright in Aco 172nd Spt Bn
sadly no...ive been assigned so many different trucks but have never seen them again after i left. the last truck i was assigned was too new to the army to get rid of..it was a 2003 frieghtliner...and i think all the deuces i drove in AK ended up on the Jarvis Bombing Range behind Eilson AFB...
Ive spoken with Caswell Many times over the phone on many orders from Eastern. seems like a real good guy. Eastern is one of the top places i buy parts from. I'd buy bigger stuff from them but shipping out here to cali is killer....
i bought mine simply because i WANTED one. thats it... to **** with rhyme and reason...to me, it makes more sense in this day and age to go against the grain and be your own person and do what you want rather then being some sort of sheep led around by your nose being told what to wear what to...
im no expert by any means but i do have many years of MV driving experience as an 88M in the army. the violent shake and heaving of the truck with the front axle locked in sounds like the U-joint in the front may be bad....ive had a few trucks do that locked in and was told it was normal but i...

USAA referred me to a higher company cause they couldnt insure it for Cali....the higher company turned out to be progressive  its a lil pricey but w/e..its insured
very cool. do you still have room for a spare tire there as well or have you mounted that elsewhere? i have a 109 so it would be a little different to mount something like that. but i like [thumbzup]
dang...in Cali the CHiPpers would be on you faster then then you can say HOT****! pulling tandems is legal in cali but it can not be a bumper pull to a bumper pull..it has to be a 5th wheel then a bumper pull....any others attract cops like...well u get the idear...
